Thank you, San Francisco, for re-electing me to serve as your District Attorney for 4 more years. Voters decisively sent a message that public safety must be steered by true accountability & experience. We will not go back to the failed policies of the previous administration.

I will always advocate for victims and survivors of domestic violence. This issue is far too common, and doesn’t get the attention it deserves. If you or a loved one needs assistance, please call 9-1-1, or contact one of the resources below. You are not alone.
This October, our office is proud to recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month and reaffirm our commitment to supporting survivors, advocating for justice, and breaking the cycle of abuse. 🧵

Protecting civil liberties builds trust- and trust makes us safer. We’re putting meaningful safeguards in place that will hold anyone who misuses camera data accountable, while preserving a vital tool for finding missing people and solving serious crimes.
Today, SFDA @BrookeJenkinsSF and Assemblymember @MattHaneySF announced plans of introducing a legislative bill designed to strengthen accountability for individuals who misuse their authorized access to Automated License Plate Reader data. 🧵 RELEASE: sfdistrictattorney.org/distr…

This sentence reflects the gravity of Mr. Campos’ crimes and holds him accountable. When he opened fire into a public area, he showed a complete disregard for the lives of every person on that street.

A new synthetic opioid, cychlorphine, up to 10x stronger than fentanyl, has reached SF— and it doesn't register on fentanyl test strips. It has already taken the life of a 16 year old San Franciscan.

My office has charged 4 people after a probe tied to the teen's overdose death seized 20,000+ counterfeit pills & multiple firearms. But the work can’t end there.

I implore the CA legislature to add Cychlorphine to the CA Health & Safety Code as an illegal substance, so that my office has the tools to hold those who sell it on our streets accountable.

San Francisco has one of the highest costs of living in the world, and too often our most vulnerable neighbors don’t know when their next meal will come. I’m honored to serve our city, and proud to support RFF with this incredibly important work.

Today we announced new results from our work against retail theft.  Over the past six months, SFPD officers have made 844 retail-theft arrests—an increase of 27% over the previous six months. This is thanks to increased enforcement, training, and closer partnerships with retailers. These efforts have led to a nearly 20% decline in larceny cases so far this year. Retail theft will not be tolerated in San Francisco. It puts workers at risk, raises prices for customers, and can drive businesses out of our neighborhoods. We will protect the people who work in our stores and the customers who depend on them. Thank you to the SFPD, Supervisor Stephen Sherrill, Board President Rafael Mandelman, and District Attorney Brooke Jenkins for your continued dedication and partnership on this issue.

1/ Retail theft has drastically decreased in the last two years, but the work is not done, and we cannot let up. 🧵

2/ When stores close their doors because they can’t absorb prolific theft, we all hurt. When people lose their jobs due to retailers leaving communities, we’re all worse for wear. And when businesses won’t bring their shops to our busiest corridors, we as a city feel that loss.

3/ My office will continue to work with law enforcement partners to ensure that San Francisco has access to what residents need: food, clothing, and resources within their own communities. That means protecting businesses and holding those who steal from them accountable.
