This young lady was able to articulate pertinent information to ATC about what conditions the jet was experiencing, while fully aware that the condition was likely unrecoverable and her fate was sealed. Information that will help investigators insure that no one else has to experience a situation like the one those poor folks faced.
To anyone who is disparaging her professionalism in the last few moments of her conversation with ATC, I genuinely hope you never find yourself faced with what those folks went through. She showed incredible bravery and to say otherwise is patently dishonest.
I play santa clause every year, its a natural progression from enjoying it as a kid. We also spend a lot of time participating in Christmas choirs and Caroling.
I wasn't allowed to believe in Santa as a kid.
My mom has always valued never lying to her kids, which I appreciate because I’ve always trusted her.
Did anyone develop trust issues with their parents after finding out Santa wasn't real?
My husband and I are navigating Christmas and Santa with our future kids, and I don’t know what to do. I like the idea of focusing more on Christ during the holiday than the commercialization of it all.
Thoughts?

Our CEO complained that the IT department looks too comfortable.
Apparently he walked past at 4 PM and saw two engineers laughing.
He asked my manager why IT had time to socialize when other departments were working.
So leadership introduced a new rule.
IT employees must log all work in 15-minute increments.
Every minute of our day has to be accounted for.
Fine.
Monday morning I started logging.
8:00–8:15: Reviewing mandatory time-tracking policy.
8:15–8:30: Configuring time-tracking software.
8:30–8:45: Investigating time-tracking software error.
8:45–9:00: Meeting with manager about time-tracking expectations.
By Wednesday, our productivity dashboard showed IT spending 31% of its time on administrative work.
The CEO was furious.
He demanded we explain why productivity had fallen.
I showed him the report.
31% administration.
22% meetings.
18% documentation.
29% actual IT work.
He said we needed to reduce administrative overhead immediately.
So I suggested eliminating the time-tracking requirement.
He said no.
"How would we know what you're doing?"
I told him we used to know because the computers worked.
He didn't like that answer.
HR has now scheduled a mandatory workshop on improving time management.
It's three hours long.
I'm logging every minute.

A classic chart to counter the wisdom of crowds idea. US Americans are absolutely clueless about how common things are. They think over a quarter of Americans are Native Americans, one in five Americans is transgender, over a quarter of the population are Muslim, one in five households earn over half a million dollars. The right answer to all of these questions is 1%. They build their worldview on totally incorrect assumptions towards reality. Data literacy matters.
See what you made me do
