HEY FOLKS, I AM IN DESPERATE NEED OF HELP. I normally use this app to allow people to purchase my books and support my work internationally. However, I have become very unwell over the past while, and I am now in serious need of help covering transportation to medical appointments, medical devices, and possibly home care. Anything helps, and every little bit makes a difference. Every time someone buys me a coffee through this app, it helps me cover the cost of transportation, food, and other basic necessities. Right now, I have very little food, and things have become incredibly difficult. I don't want to share every detail of my personal situation, but at present, I can barely walk without assistance. I may also need to make changes to my home so it is more accessible for my medical and mobility needs. After 18 years of community service, helping others wherever I could, I now find myself in a position where I need help myself. I have no family or friends available to help me through this, and I am facing these challenges very much alone. I am tired, frustrated, and struggling to figure out how to manage everything. If you have questions, please feel free to ask me. I also want to clarify something: much of the money shown on this app is from old transactions. It wasn't raised as donations; it was money used to pay for items I sold a long time ago. However, this is the best way I currently have for people to send me a little help. I am honestly embarrassed to have to put this out there. I have spent so many years trying to be the person who helps others, and now I am the one asking for help. It's a difficult thing to accept, and there are days when I struggle with how it makes me feel about myself. Please, I am asking for compassion, not judgment. I have enough on my plate right now without insults or criticism. I was sitting at my desk, working on another poem and song, when something completely different dropped on my heart and mind and I feel pressed to share it. As many of you know, I’ve got a couple of children’s books out now, and I’ve been thinking about where they could make the biggest impact. Then it came to me in a second Christmas is coming, and there are so many women’s shelters filled with moms and kids who don’t have the means to buy gifts. So here’s my idea: If I can print a few hundred (or more) copies of Bruno the Bull and Bruno’s Next Adventure, I’d love to send them out and drop them off at women’s shelters to give the kids a gift at Christmas. It’s not a huge thing, but it’s something real I can do. I can’t do it alone, though so if anyone would like to help fund this project, please reach out. Every penny that comes in will go directly toward printing more books. If this goes well, there’s no reason it has to stop after Christmas. Maybe we could even start something long-term where for every book sold, one gets donated to a child in need. Anyway, that’s the idea that came to me this morning.
