No fracking way! Ireland's new leader @MichealMartinTD is on the verge of selling out Ireland to Trump & allowing a disastrous LNG terminal to import US fracked gas. The same terminal the last gov't found was not needed! Please - listen to these scientists & say no to LNG! 🧵
'More damaging than coal'. Top climate & energy experts write to Taoiseach to urge him to step back from LNG. Letter signed by @HannahEDaly @LryanEnergy @autofac @MichaelEMann @jenniecstephens @ProfJohnBarry @diarmuidtorney @EAASolutions @PBresnihan & more

Our @ucddublin @UCDEnvPolicy MSc students made the @farmersjournal today for their research on storm resilience in forestry, based on their work in my project-based learning module last Spring.

I enjoyed this conversation on #GE24 for @thejournal_ie The Explainer podcast
On this week's episode of The Explainer, Dr Cara Augustenborg joins us to look at the fallout from the Green Party's collapse in the 2024 general election.
Which party is best placed to fill the void and take the action that is needed?

Most of our Class of '24 @UCDEnvPolicy MSc students got back to @ucddublin for graduation today. It was wonderful to hear of all their success & adventures since they left us last summer!Wishing this class best of luck in their career pursuits. The sky is the limit!

This is a considered analysis of the fate of climate action policies by @CAugustenborg post GE. I can attest to the commitment of @labour in its manifesto that climate action will be a core mission for the party whether in government or in opposition. irishexaminer.com/opinion/co…
"Climate action is no longer the burden of one party — it is a shared responsibility that must transcend election cycles."
- My take on #GE24 in today's @IrishExaminer
irishexaminer.com/opinion/co…
My take on a terrible day for #GreenParty in #GE24: A Fianna Fail TD once told me he "love(d) working with @greenparty_ie because they were like Kamikaze politicians" -i.e. They knew the would not survive next election so they killed themselves to get as much done as possible. 🧵
You can criticise their manifesto (I have); their election campaign; etc. But ultimately, I think the @greenparty_ie downfall is simply due to putting all their time into things that will massively benefit us in the future, though they may not be obvious now. 4/5
Whatever the outcome of today, @greenparty_ie TDs should be proud of their 5 years of service to our country. I just pray other parties will be as hard working and diligent when it comes to climate & environment in next G'ment. 5/5

Fully onboard with this idea. Single booklet, one page per cand. At least would eliminate the Litir.
Alll the #GE2024 lit that came through my door this wk seems excessive & unfair to me, rewarding those w/ big budgets over other candidates. Any hope Election Commission will mandate voter's guides like in US counties? It would also elimonate need for posters... @ArtOLeary

It was great to see @rte #leadersdebate kick off climate question with @UCDEarth @foeireland #GE2024 manifesto analysis (linked below). One point in response to @MichealMartinTD's answer - Our analysis only looked at what was in manfestos against FoE's 111 demands in their... 1/2
