Miles2Go 30-Day Challenge | Day 1/30 💳 Cashback vs reward points: which actually gives you more value? Let’s use two credit cards to understand the difference. 1️⃣ HDFC Millennia - straightforward cashback Millennia offers 5% cashback on eligible spends at specified online merchants, including Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Uber, Swiggy and Zomato. Suppose you spend ₹5,000 directly on an eligible Myntra purchase. At 5%, you earn ₹250 in cashback. That’s a 5% return, upto ₹1000 per statement cycle. And then you spend ₹25,000 on general spends, which gives you another 1% cashback - ₹250. That’s a total of ₹500 cashback on spends of ₹30,000 2️⃣ HDFC Infinia - flexible reward points Infinia earns 5 Reward Points per ₹150 on eligible retail spending. Spend ₹30,000 on eligible transactions and you earn 1,000 Reward Points. Here’s where things get interesting. HDFC’s published redemption values for Infinia include: ✈️ Flights and hotels: ₹1 per point 🎁 Other products and vouchers: up to ₹0.50 per point 💰 Statement cashback: up to ₹0.30 per point So those 1,000 points could be worth ₹1,000 against eligible travel bookings, but only ₹300 as statement cashback. That’s a threefold difference in redemption value. The catch? You need to use the points for a redemption that makes sense. A ₹1,000 points redemption isn’t automatically better if you could have booked the same trip for less elsewhere. Your first lesson in the points game: Don’t just ask how many points a card earns. Ask what those points are worth, how you can redeem them, and whether the card’s fees and restrictions make sense for your spending. Over the next 30 days, we’ll explore how to earn rewards more efficiently, use multiplier platforms, and turn points into real travel value. Follow the Miles2Go 30-Day Challenge. ✈️

I’m starting a 30-day challenge with Miles2Go. ✈️ For the next 30 days, I’ll publish something useful every single day about credit card points, miles, travel and getting more value out of your money. We’ll cover everything from the basics of earning points to multiplier platforms, transfer bonuses, award flight bookings, redemption maths and real-world travel redemptions. There’ll be content for beginners and for those who’ve been in the points game for years. But there’s another reason I’m doing this. I’ve built Miles2Go to 9,000 followers, but I haven’t been as consistent as I should have been. I want to change that, not by making another ambitious plan, but by committing to showing up every day. 30 days. Useful content. No posting just for the sake of it. My goal is to help you earn smarter, redeem better and travel for less. I’ll be documenting the journey here, with daily lessons and practical examples on my WhatsApp channel. If you’ve been meaning to understand the world of points and miles better, join me for the next 30 days. WhatsApp channel: whatsapp.com/channel/0029VbE… Day 1 starts today. Let’s do this. 🚀

You know you’re doing something right when people you look up to have positive things to say about you. Having met Priyesh and seen him build his company from scratch, the way he’s gone about it is genuinely inspiring to me and many others around him. So, do as the man himself suggests, and you won’t be disappointed for sure. 🙌🏻
Have massive respect for him! He did a lot of heavy lifting when miles redemption was extremely niche and only known to few, most would have to either use the services offered, rely on paid apps. He created beautiful charts and actually decentralised a lot of things specific for Indian market! Wish him all the luck! One of the few guys whose content is worth your timeline! Atleast its worth mine. Having met him on multiple occasions! I find the guy behind the account a very soft spoken and a great human being and definitely super skilled!

Having met this guy multiple times, I can tell you this isn't just someone sharing information. He's someone who genuinely goes out of his way to help others in the points & miles community. His knowledge is impeccable. I still refer to his Excel sheets, and I keep learning from him. If you are serious about mastering points & miles, do yourself a favour and follow this channel. This is the kind of resource you want in your corner.

Because everyone loves numbers and “value,” I ran the math on my last set of flights: Flight #1: Bangkok → Paris → London (Air France Business) Typical cost: ₹1.77L I paid: 85,000 Flying Blue Miles + ~₹35K taxes Value: ~₹1.67 per mile (after taxes) Flight #2: London → Mumbai (Air India Business) Typical cost: ₹1.26L I paid: 100,000 Maharaja Club points + ₹39K taxes Value: ~₹0.87 per point (after taxes) “Typical cost” = half of a round-trip fare booked at least 6 months in advance in the same cabin - not some last-minute one-way fare used to inflate the headline number. So what stands out? These are solid redemptions, but they’re nowhere near the ₹3–₹4/point values you often see quoted. Those numbers are frequently "curve-fitted" to match a narrative. Hitting ₹3–₹4 isn’t impossible, but real-world, average redemptions usually look like this, and it's what you’ll get most of the time.

Just back from a 14 day long couple’s Europe trip that covered Spain, Italy and Switzerland 🇪🇸🇮🇹🇨🇭 The flights were booked in business class and hotels were a mix of luxury and budget options. Very high level breakdown of the numbers: Amex MR points burnt: 5,19,000 Axis Atlas Edge Miles burnt: 1,59,750 Out of pocket cost: ~INR 3,50,000 Details of all the redemptions and costs dropping soon 👀. Follow along if you are someone who’s looking to optimise their points stash and keeping the out of pocket cost relatively low.
