so if I read this right, this "built in connectivity" will know what mileage a car does and presumably where it is at any time. That kills many a potential EV purchase I am sure. For a company car user even worse

Nightmare Record Net Zero cost
Balancing Grid cost £52million yesterday, now running at £6billion pa, over £200 per household
All due to wind & solar challenges
Delusional NESO pretend all is fine
So there we have it. Probably the highest day ever in the BM at over £52 million
The final number tends to be a bit higher than the trading figure reported by LCP
This is what Connect & Manage has done... We spent £52 million because we had to throw away wind in Scotland that we built despite knowing we can't use it
Plus NESO not curtailing it before the DA auction meaning instead of gas plant self dispatching it has to be bid on in the BM

Press Release: Budget raises car and van mileage rates again, but the motorcycle rate stays at 24p
Motorcyclists who ride their own motorcycle for work can still claim only 24p a mile tax-free after today’s Budget, the rate set in April 2002.

Slowly, slowly the reality of running an EV is beginning to dawn...
EVs are shite.
The policies of this and the previous government are in my opinion splitting families and turning children against parents due to the inability to get the chosen work and that which they have studied for over many years. Both the @UKLabour , their crazy taxes/NI and employment laws, as well as that of the previous governments have a lot to answer for. Respect for parents and elders is at an all time low and net zero and the push to AI has a huge responsibility. Today a degree and masters degree is worth nothing if you cant get a job, in fact it costs to the sum of the debt they then owe to the government, parents and the like. If you are on benefits at an election you will not "bite the hand that feeds you" which right now is @UKLabour in my view, but everyone in business has to opt for one party at election time in my view. The @Conservatives failed at the last attempt so let pray votes go to @reformparty_uk it has to be better than anything before and could be our salvation. We need change or the UK is doomed in my view. Just my thoughts and never never known the UK so bad as it is today with moral at rock bottom
Is it me or do most EV's look cheap, pasticky and even the badges cheap?

We are paying far too much for electricity because wind & solar have to be subsidised & backed up with imported electricity & gas.
Net zero added £140.3bn to Britain's electricity bills in 2002–24: £2,286 for the average household. Modelled, in 2024 prices. Nobody official counts it. Parliament should require a yearly statement, with data anyone can check.

Hope alone will not "cut it" and hope is an emotion not an action but scrap net zero and any potential ban on Petrol and Diesel sales and that will get a good result. Hope alone does nothing

The whole idea of zero emissions has to be scrapped and is complete lunacy to even consider. Scrap all the ideas of zero emissions @UKLabour and scrap all ideas of banning Petrol and Diesel or watch so so many vote away from your party come election time. We need choice not dictatorial policies. Some tasks can NOT be done by electric and are unlikely to be in the near future
"A consultation to “shape [the] pathway to reach zero emission driving by 2035” was opened in August and closes this week. “The UK is reviewing targets to ensure they remain pro-business & grounded in the real world,” claimed the press release. If only."
