High school football players threaten to sexually assault female student—message her in group chat.
"If you think Cornell was bad just wait for us," text said.
School claims police told them not to discipline the students—because it would interfere investigation.
What's worse? Some parents are excusing the football players' behavior saying, "Boys will be boys."
Eventually the group chat starts to debate whether the girl "deserved to die afterwards."
Saying that would make their plan stand out from the recent Cornell case.
The threats were written in a group chat called "Gameday Lunch."

1,200 sexual assault cases were filed at Cornell from 2018 to 2024. Most of those found responsible received minor sanctions that allowed them to remain on campus, such as probation or training. Only 7 ended in expulsion or dismissal.

Cornell University police condensed a former student's interview into a 6-page document that OMITTED her explicitly stating, "I can say with 100% confidence I was raped".
The Tompkins County DA said his office relied on this condensed 6-page file when making the decision not to press charges. He says he hadn't seen the full interview transcript.
Cornell knew what they were doing by leaving that off the summary. They wanted to sweep this under a rug. It looks like a conspiracy to cover up felony sex crimes to protect their reputation.

I sat in on a 200-level lecture yesterday.
The coughing was honestly jarring.
The room held a little over 110 students and was nearly full. Most rows had 10-12 seats. From where I was sitting, I could see & hear at least 2 people coughing in nearly every row.
Not one bad cough somewhere in the room.
Coughing from all directions. Again and again.
And all I could think was:
It’s September.
If this is what a college lecture hall sounds like in September, what is November going to sound like?
We have normalized an astonishing amount of respiratory illness (although no one is testing, wastewater shows COVID high/very high in many states in the US) …and apparently we decided that filling classrooms with it is just part of life now.
We could have cleaner indoor air.
We could have better ventilation and filtration.
We could make staying home when sick easier.
We could normalize wearing a good mask when symptomatic.
Instead, we’re sitting shoulder-to-shoulder listening to an entire lecture hall cough.
This should not feel normal. This is absurd.
Fingers crossed that my respirator worked because I’d bet my house that air was filled with COVID and some other nasty things.
