For months, everyone has been talking about Peter Thiel’s secretive Antichrist lectures in Nashville. @gb_rango attended all four off-the-record lectures, held inside the historic Grand Lodge of Tennessee Free and Accepted Masons. Now, with Thiel’s blessing: a comprehensive, firsthand reconstruction of his sprawling theory of the end times, from AI doomers and one-world government to the fate of America. piratewires.com/p/inside-pet…

Driving a truck requires physical work. Physical changes -- products, manufacture, and the inevitable regulation -- take time. Pure intelligence jobs are easier to replace by software, hence coding and maths are among the first to have AI as serious competitors. Next up will be a lot of academic disciplines, from theoretical physics to economics. We can already see this beginning now. There must be a lot of scientific discoveries hidden in the scientific literature, conclusions that have not been drawn simply because no human has been able to read everything that has been published. AI is about to pick those fruits in the coming year ringing in what might be akin a second scientific revolution. This is going to keep the stock market excited for some time. I also expect, unfortunately, that the models which are most capable at scientific discovery will be increasingly restricted to members of institutions that have made deals with the leading companies. (Which isn't going to end well for the EU.) As usual, you shouldn't believe a word I say because as everyone will tell you, I don't know anything about nothing. But at least I have consistently said the same thing for a few years now. xitter.cf/Icebergy/status/211488…
mathematicians and software engineers getting automated before truck drivers is pretty surprising

When skeptics raise an eyebrow and ask me how I, a scientist, can believe in the miracles of the Bible, I tell them if I can believe God created an entire universe, complex life, and consciousness, why is it a stretch to believe he also spoke to Moses through a burning bush or turned water into wine? These same skeptics are often fine with a universe that just magically pops into existence or some unknown mechanism cranking out infinite universes. But Jesus walking on water is a bridge too far. 🤦‍♀️
And the larger point here is that a being who can create the universe is surely capable of doing what look to puny humans like “miracles” in local settings.

When I tried to find a foundation for these beliefs as an atheist, I was very discouraged. That was the first serious crack in my atheism. I would become a theist two years later, partly because belief in a transcendent Creator solved this problem.
Atheism has a quiet problem it rarely admits. It borrows heavily from the Christian worldview while denying the foundation: • Human dignity • Objective moral wrong • The value of truth-seeking • The expectation that the universe should make sense

An Open Concern About Appearances: The Catholic Church and the Midterms I am Catholic. I say the rosary. I go to Mass. Nothing in what follows is an accusation against the Church, the Pope, or any bishop. It is a concern about how things look from the outside, and how that appearance is landing with millions of Americans right now. This administration created a Justice Department task force on anti-Christian bias, pardoned twenty-three pro-life prisoners, stood up a White House Faith Office and a Religious Liberty Commission, designated Nigeria a Country of Particular Concern over the killing of Christians, and cut off federal funding to Planned Parenthood. For a Catholic writer, that record is not nothing. It is, on its face, one of the most tangible pro-life and pro-faith agendas in modern presidential history. In January 2025, the same administration suspended the refugee and migrant service contracts that had funded the USCCB and Catholic Charities for decades. Over one hundred million dollars a year. More than ninety-five percent of some program budgets. By spring, staff were laid off. By summer, agencies were closing programs. The money did not come back. Institutions that lose their largest funding stream tend to find their moral vocabulary sharpening in the same direction as their budgets. I am not saying that is what happened. I am saying that is what it looks like, and that appearance is not going unnoticed. Fourteen months later, in April 2026, the public statements from the Vatican and from American bishops toward this administration grew noticeably louder and more pointed than anything seen during the first term. Catholics see it. Non-Catholics see it. And when a bishop speaks out days before a national election against one party’s immigration positions—which are prudential disagreements open to debate—while remaining silent on the other’s platform positions that contradict settled Church teaching on life, on the body, on marriage, the imbalance is impossible to miss. I am not suggesting the Church holds a grudge, or that its silence on one side was bought. I am saying that is the appearance, and appearances are what most Americans, Catholic and not, actually see. When the institution that spent a year without its largest funding stream then directs its public voice at one party near an election—the very party that delivered more concrete protections for Christian life and religious liberty than perhaps any administration in living memory—the appearance is not of a shepherd. It is of a stakeholder. That is the embarrassment I cannot unsee. -- Joseph Fosco October 27, 2026

These are Dave Ramsey’s comments about going cashless. No one has explained it better. He brings up several situations most of us had never considered. For those who may not know, Dave Ramsey is an American radio personality who offers financial advice. No cash means absolutely NO CASH. So try this… the next store you go in and order a drink or want to buy their product and they tell you “card only”, walk away. I have done this out of principle, and will continue to do so. Dave Ramsey repost: HERE'S WHAT NO CASH ACTUALLY MEANS: A cashless society means no cash. Zero. It doesn’t mean mostly cashless and you can still use a ‘wee bit of cash here & there’. Cashless means fully digital, fully traceable, fully controlled. I think those who support a cashless society aren’t fully aware of what they are asking for. A cashless society means: * If you are struggling with your mortgage in a particular month, you can’t do an odd job to get you through. * Your child can’t go & help the local farmer to earn a bit of summer cash. * No more cash slipped into the hands of a child as a good luck charm or from their grandparent when going on holidays. * No more money in birthday cards. * No more piggy banks for your child to collect pocket money & to learn about the value of earning. * No more cash for a rainy day fund or for that something special you have been putting $20 a week away for. * No more little jobs on the side because your wages barely cover the bills or put food on the table. * No more charity collections. * No more selling bits & pieces from your home that you no longer want/need for a bit of cash in return. * No more cash gifts from relatives or loved ones. What a cashless society does guarantee: * Banks have full control of every single penny you own. * Every transaction you make is recorded. * All your movements & actions are traceable. * Access to your money can be blocked at the click of a button when/if banks need ‘clarification’ from you, which will take about 3 weeks, a thousand questions answered & five thousand passwords. * You will have no choice but to declare & be taxed on every dollar in your possession. * The government WILL decide what you can & cannot purchase. * If your transactions are deemed in any way questionable, by those who create the questions, your money will be frozen, ‘for your own good’. Forget about cash being dirty. Stop being so easily led. Cash has been around for a very, very, very long time & it gives you control over how you trade with the world. It gives you independence. If you are a customer, pay with cash. If you are a shop owner, remove those ridiculous signs that ask people to pay by card. Cash is legal tender; it is our right to pay with cash. Banks are making it increasingly difficult to deposit cash. Please open your eyes. Please stop believing everything you are being told. Almost every single topic in today’s world is tainted with corruption & hidden agendas. Pay with cash & please say no to a cashless society while you still have the choice. You are welcome to share this 😊

This is correct. I'm going to keep pointing it out every time it applies, which is all over the place: THE PROBLEM IS AT SCALE. There are always girls and women who are loose women, sluts. Always. But in a healthy society sluttiness is socially stigmatized, shamed, and MARGINALIZ|ED sufficiently to keep it from becoming a problem AT SCALE, at which point it becomes a problem for everyone. Divorce is like this too. I believe that homosexuality is like this also. 20th century Liberalistic individualistic society tried a very stupid experiment in "let's stop stigmatizing or marginalizing bad behaviors BECAUSE looked at on an individual level, they are not too bad. What business is it of yours that Mr. and Mrs. Smith are getting divorced? There are unhappy marriages, you know. What business is it of yours what Jim and Alan do in a private bedroom? Why do you care? IT DOESN'T AFFECT YOU. But it does. In doesn't affect me in particular if Jane wants to binge ketamine at Cornell and have a gangbang, but you know what does affect me, because it affects the polity as a whole? Pornography culture. OnlyFans culture. A society in which relationships between men and women, healthy marriages and healthy families, are breaking down all over. There are a million things that are not all that bad so long as they are confined to the fringes and the margins and are small in number. But these same thing AT SCALE become slow-moving disasters.
Everyone analyzes sluttiness through an individualistic lens, but the real problem with sluttiness is that, at a certain scale, it sort of ruins the game theory of dating for everyone. The more sluts there are in the dating pool, the less incentivized highly desirable men are to commit to any woman in particular, and the more likely it is that the average man will have to be married to an ex-slut (i.e., a bitter woman who chose to exit the game and settle) who in all likelihoods will be incapable of loving him. Furthermore, because more women are willing to put out, women who don’t are at a disadvantage and come across as prude or cold. So, more women are pressured into putting out quickly, which reinforces more of the above

2. Imagine a world, your world, where all the scary threat protection systems are removed. What does that world look like. CCTV cameras removed. Body scans at airports removed. X-Ray machines removed. Shoes stay on. You carry a blottle of water onto an airplane without issue. You return to the 1980's world of transit. Your metadata is no longer being captured for review. Your conversations are no longer being recorded by your devices. Your data profile is no longer being sold and monetized. No one is tracking you, or anyone else. It's a scary world with all kinds of perceived 'risks' and potential 'threats' existing, that never surface. It's a world where all these terrible 'what if' dark imaginings still happen in the psyche, but nothing ever comes from them. Stop being scared, and suddenly you no longer need the 'global counterterrorism conference' and all the looming rules and regulations they can put into place to protect you, ultimately control you, from the scary imagined stuff that has existed for generations.... Australia used quarantine camps for a fictitious threat. New Zealand set up regional roadblocks for a fictitious threat. The EU made you carry documents to ensure your compliance with a fictitious threat. The paint in WalMart was blockaded to protect you from a fictitious threat. Canada shut down the bank accounts of those who did not comply with the fictitious threat. Do you realize the same people at Bongino's 'global security conference' are the same people who stimulated the threat response noted above? Do you realize the same industry professionals now control the election outcomes in Brazil, France, Romania, Germany and 2020 USA? Those who benefit from fear, claim it is a scary world out there. Be careful who you hire to protect you from it; and ask questions about the rules they come with. Think about it.

ULTIMO MINUTO!

When you consider George W. Bush inherited a budget surplus from the good 90s economy, then used 9/11 to start 20 year wars while doing tax cuts, then bailed out the banks that gave us the 2008 financial crisis…the excitement makes some sense in hindsight. But Obama just decided to sell out and get rich. His main legislative ‘achievement’ is healthcare premiums that are bankrupting the middle class. He squandered the chance to be a transformative POTUS to live on Martha’s Vinyard with Netflix $$.
I can’t believe we ever got excited about ‘Barack Obama.’ I think about it and it just fills me with embarrassment and shame.

Deutschland hat fertig. Oder: Ein Sonntagsei mit Hindernissen. Sonntagmorgen. Also weiter zum Hofladen. Fury bekommt Auslauf, ich bekomme frische Luft. Nur Eier bekomme ich nicht. Ausverkauft. Vielleicht haben die Hennen heute Sonntag. Oder Betriebsversammlung. Immerhin Kartoffeln. Unternehmer in Deutschland.
