Hallo Balaam @BalaamBarugahar , it’s me again, Dr Omona. I read your response to Hon Calvin @EchoduOfficial , Mp and @NRMOnline Vice C/man for Eastern, member of the @NRMOnline CEC . According to you , Hon Echodu , an elected leader of the people , was tribal , unpatriotic, not statesman enough and immature , to respond to the happenings in his constituency and region, huh ! May be , Balaam, you may wish to advise , who has a right to speak in Uganda and speak for the people and for themselves and how to speak. I come from the Greater #Kaberamaido, where Lt Gen ELWELU also comes from ( Anyara , Kalaki ). The people in that place got terrified by the ongoing in the National news , aware of their traumatic past , wanted assurance from their leaders about their community. What then would us , their children and leaders tell them. Did we need to seek permission from you to calm down our people so they can settle to till their land without fear ? It’s planting and exam season in this our place right now. Why do you want to smear such a foul lebel as tribalism on a leader who is just calling for calm and giving assurance to his people ? The last time I checked your were a great promoter of tribal chauvinism, have you finally come to our side ?😅😅😅😅😅. I hope we haven’t abandoned our mass line ideology that shaped many of us. WHAT IS PATRIOTISM WITHOUT THE PEOPLE, Bure ! We of the region , are more interested in National security more than you may be even , we bear very many scars of insurgencies and we don’t desire any more . That’s why we find Hon Echodu’s statement neutral , mature , Patriotic and civil and peaceful and re assuring- that’s leadership and therefore don’t need your permission from you , atleast not in our villages to speak for them. We have a duty to do so. This is the beauty of the NRM that we still believe in and this is what our leader Mzee @KagutaMuseveni has taught us. So ma bro Balamu, no one has the monopoly of opinion OR even wisdom and to speak , it’s what we fought for , you remember? Hii ni sirikali ya wananchi. Finally, let me summarize for you what Hon Echodu called for : calm in the region, speedy and transparent inquiry into the Gen ELWELU alleged subversive activities and caution against inflammatory statements. Are these unwise according to you ! Greetings from Kaberamaido city. Cheers.
My dear friend @EchoduOfficial and Hon @NRMOnline Central Committee member, I wish to respectfully appeal that we approach this matter with the highest level of objectivity, wisdom and statesmanship, and avoid viewing it through political, tribal or regional lenses. Matters touching on national security are particularly sensitive and deserve sober reflection, restraint and careful consideration. I believe it would be in the best interests of our country to allow an impartial and independent investigation to establish the facts before conclusions are drawn or positions taken. We should also recognise the experience and institutional responsibility of our Commander-in-Chief @KagutaMuseveni and Chief of Defence Forces General @mkainerugaba , who have considerable experience in assessing intelligence and weighing its implications before decisions are made. Equally important, their compassion, understanding and commitment to the wellbeing of our nation should not be overlooked. As leaders entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding our country’s unity and stability, let us demonstrate maturity, mutual respect and confidence in the appropriate processes. Above all, let national interest prevail over personal, political, tribal or regional considerations. I make this appeal in the spirit of friendship, patriotism and our shared commitment to the peace, unity and stability of our beloved country.

Hon. @MwesigyeFranks , politics is not a competition of insults, and leadership is certainly not measured by how loudly one can attack colleagues. Hon. Calvin Echodu raised legitimate public concerns about the situation in Teso and called for calm, consultation and a transparent inquiry. If you disagree with his position, challenge his arguments with facts, not personal allegations about failed ministerial appointments or imagined political bitterness. The most troubling part of your response is the attempt to turn a matter of national security and public concern into a personal political confrontation. Remember, political loyalty does not require intellectual surrender, and belonging to a political movement does not deprive anyone of the right to ask questions. Uganda needs leaders who can debate issues, not political actors who mistake personal attacks for intellectual arguments.

U just wanted to write! What u're saying is what he was saying, but your starting lines are for Kwenuza & setting him up as though he's making it tribal. He is a representative of Teso. Did you want him to quote Bunyoro? Let those incharge handle.

"Gen. Elwelu was extremely loyal, but he is now being pursued. This has raised concern among the people of Teso, who fear that something is happening to their leaders. They believe this is not a good move for the country." #MorningAtNTV

Am surprised even you my young brother Bruce who graduated recently from school failed to read, comprehend or interpret Hon @EchoduOfficial ‘s Statement. I think Tribalism is inbuilt in some of your minds that’s you distribute it freely as gifts to every leader. Just like my brother @SSssebunya and a one @MwesigyeFranks who misinterpreted a well intentioned Statement, you guys are working very hard to voluntarily recruit the population against PLU because of your intolerant, disrespectful, disgusting and unthoughtful attacks on leaders who are simply discharging their mandates and responsibility. Next time learn to read, comprehend and interpret statements of leaders or individuals before rushing to accuse them of tribalism. Hon Echodu has a duty to communicate to the concerns of the people he leads and above all guide them to give the Military processes an opportunity which every citizen hopes will be fair or just.
With due respect to Hon. Calvin Echodu, we must be careful not to turn an individual security investigation into a regional or tribal matter. Crime has no tribe, and criminal responsibility is individual, Peter Elwelu is not the first person to be investigated over security-related allegations, and he certainly won’t be the last. His previous military rank, service or personal popularity cannot place him above the law. The UPDF and other security agencies have a constitutional responsibility to protect Uganda and its people. If there are credible allegations of activities intended to destabilise any part of this country, they must investigate, establish the facts and ensure that those responsible face the law. Teso is bigger than Peter Elwelu, just as Uganda is bigger than any individual. The people of Teso deserve peace, security and development, not to be drawn into unnecessary political or ethnic divisions because of the circumstances surrounding one individual. We should equally be clear that anyone attempting to exploit this matter to incite tribal hatred, create disunity or undermine the security of our country must be dealt with in accordance with the law. Let us not intimidate security institutions through regional sentiments. Let the investigations proceed, let the evidence speak and let the law take its course. Uganda’s peace, sovereignty and territorial integrity are non-negotiable. For God and My Country. @mkainerugaba @MODVA_UPDF @ChrisOMagezi @DaudiKabanda

Finally ur narrative has changed and carries more sense and maturity expected of a leader of your level, next time let excitement not make u think Elwelu has no family or rights regardless of his past, if KB deserves human and constitutional dignity so does Elwelu and everyone
Alwelu was used, promoted, and now he is discarded. When he received orders to massacre, he massacred and even bragged about it. He laughed at those who were going to the ICC to seek redress, often reminding us how untouchable he was because he "shed blood for his government." Go on youtube, search for videos of those that were massacred and tell me whether Elwelu was justified to brag about such a massacre. Elwelu and those who gave him orders are all murderers. The murderers are now turning against each other.

Now that the security forces have done their work, our law presumes him innocent until prosecution proves, beyond reasonable doubt, that he was indeed involved in subversive activities. Let him be accorded fair trial before a competent court of law. Do not delay justice.
Breaking: Renegade UPDF Officer Peter Elwelu has this evening been arrested by the security forces in Soroti City. Elwelu has been on the run over involvement in subversive activities and plans to destabilize Teso. The security forces recently recovered 15 guns in his possession, military fatigues, and two pickup trucks. He will be charged and prosecuted in the courts of law accordingly.

In the 1980s, he chose to expose the dirty dealings of his UPA brothers to the NRA. in 2026, he has chosen to expose a brother’s whereabouts. Indeed, history repeats itself!💔😔
