Every GOP strategist, consultant, and candidate should be forced to participate in a role-playing exercise this morning.
Your name is Bob. You’re a 49-year-old blue-collar worker in Ohio. You’ve always struggled to make ends meet. The good jobs were all shipped to China and the few remaining pay a pittance wage, undercut by endless illegal labor.
You’re a 3x Trump voter because you believed he would finally make America great again.
You put your son through Ohio State. He graduated cum laude in computer science. You couldn’t have been prouder. After months searching, he landed an entry-level job at Microsoft. Beneath his qualifications, but a good start for a smart kid.
Then he got laid off. That same month, Microsoft applied for 150,000 more H-1B visas because it can’t find qualified Americans.
Your son has spent six months back in his childhood bedroom, sending hundreds of applications without landing an interview.
On TV, Trump boasts about the greatest economy in history and how many women and minorities are finding jobs.
You decide a father-son steak night might cheer him up.
Gas is $4.50 a gallon. Filling your truck costs over $100. At Kroger, ribeyes are $30/lb. You settle for hamburger, even though 70/30 ground beef still costs $10+.
At checkout, a fat black woman is screaming at the cashier because her EBT will only cover most of the filet mignon and lobster in her cart.
You think to yourself how the Iran war has made everything expensive, but at least we’re stopping their nuclear bomb. You weren’t even sure where Iran was before you googled it after we first bombed them in March.
After dinner, you take your son to the county fair. Half the people aren’t speaking English. Virtually none of the crowd looks like you. You’re forced to leave early after a “teen takeover” turns violent. A foreign born judge pledges none of them will go to jail.
Back home, you turn on the TV. Vivek Ramaswamy is lecturing the crowd about American mediocrity and why Ohio needs more foreign talent.
Your son grows upset. You change the channel.
Now a Republican surrogate, the daughter of a governor or wife of an elderly billionaire, explains that young White men are the REAL welfare queens. They’d rather play videogames in their parents’ basements than work.
Your son says nothing. He just goes back to his childhood bedroom. You turn off the TV.
Then your neighbor starts blasting reggaeton and cracking open Modelos. He brought his cousin’s family from Mexico to help with all the minority-business contracts his construction firm keeps winning. Tonight they’re celebrating his nephew’s birth, the family’s first birthright American citizen.
You sit alone in your living room.
You worked hard, paid taxes, obeyed the law, and raised your son to do everything right. You voted Republican again and again because you believed somebody in Washington would finally fight for you.
Instead, your wages are stagnant. Groceries are unaffordable. Your community is unrecognizable. Your country is fighting another foreign war.
And upstairs, the son you sacrificed everything for is lying awake in the bedroom he slept in at twelve, wondering what the heck he’s even supposed to do with his life now.
Every time you turn on the TV, the Republicans you elected are either congratulating themselves or explaining why you and your son are the problem.
For ten years, they told you America’s future depended on your vote. Now you aren’t even sure America has a future worth defending.
The Republican Party needs to answer one simple question this morning:
You’ve spent a decade demanding Bob’s loyalty. You’ve given him stagnant wages, unaffordable groceries, another foreign war, and a son who did everything right but can’t find work.
And when they complain, you call them lazy, entitled, and racist.
What possible reason have you given Bob and his son to vote Republican? Do you honestly think you deserve their vote?

Marc Thiessen is the Anthony Fauci of 2026. Trump was on a glide path to the most successful presidency in modern history, and Thiessen rolled in, fed him a bunch of lies, destroyed his approval ratings with neocon forever war nonsense, and left him with a smoking crater where Republicans used to be standing.

At @UTSA for Pick Up the Mic, a student read a poem celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk with such glee, then told me I was brave to be out here without my neck covered.
I told her I’d pray for her.
This is the climate. We pick up the mic anyway.

Elon Musk made a bunch of money the last few years and commie Bernie says "gee, I wonder why"
Um...Elon's landing rocket ships backwards and building flying cars, you stupid communist. I know you've never built anything, you've only ever worked for government, but Elon not only makes cool shit, he also directly employs over 160,000 people, and God knows how many people make a living using his work product. How many people have you employed in your life, Bernard? What have you built? You've never produced anything of value in your entire impotent life...gee, I wonder why?

Humans are a pack animal.
This may be hard to understand if you are evangelical and think the book of genesis is literal rather than allegorical, but humans are a pack animal.
What this means is that the human desire for the acceptance and support of a tribe is as fundamental as the desire for food, for air, for water, for sex, for sunlight, for love.
If you tell young men that they cannot have a tribe, they're not going to accept that.
Ever.
Especially if you tell that only to the young men of one tribe in particular. They're going to wonder why everybody gets to have a tribe and they don't.
And they're eventually going to decide that you are the enemy.
Because you are. Anyone who stands between young men and what they need for a healthy, fulfilled life is their enemy.
That includes you.
And if you manage to convince them that god doesn't want them to have a tribe, it will also include god.
The more you push back against their healthy and natural desire for a tribe, a homeland, and a birthright, the more they will hate you, and the more exclusive their definition of that tribe will become.
There is no way you can stop this. The only thing you can control is how far they have to go, how radical they have to become, in order to get it.
Because this can go all the way from enforcing immigration law, and shutting down corrupt visa programs right now, to gangs of young White men in balaclavas with Ar15s going door to door ten years from now.
We have to do something about the 14th amendment. I don't care if that makes you uncomfortable or unhappy. It's not a choice. The constitution exists to serve Americans, not the other way around. If that sentence confuses you, read the first paragraph of the constitution.
If we do not, young men of the future, the same little boys who are being radicalized right now by your malicious indifference, will treat a piece of paper that says they cannot have a homeland the way they would treat a piece of paper that says that can't eat food, or a piece of paper that says they can't own a home, or have a wife and children.
You may think that you offer them a tribe in the form of the universal kingdom of god, the community of all believers, but that's just a word game and you know it, which is why you are so defensive about the whole thing.
Where was the universal community of believers when these young men needed help? When they needed not just the surface appearance of a tribe, but someone to do the things that tribes actually do for younger generations they care about?
The pack serves a concrete set of functions in the life cycle of the human species, and you cannot perform those functions with a cardboard cutout.
Young men are sick of religion that offers them responsibilities with no rights, lectures with no help, demands with no love or empathy.
It's odd, in a way ironic, that, I, the man of zero faith, should have to be the one standing here telling self-styled religious leaders how they failed both their people and their god.
But having no faith does give me one advantage. It frees me from the delusion that Jesus is a puppet that I can pull out of my pocket, slip over my right hand, move his mouth and make him say what I want.
I used to wonder, as a child, what the phrase "taking the name of the lord in vain" actually meant.
But I no longer wonder, because when I became a man, I looked around me and saw all these people who talk to god and somehow get told exactly what they want to hear.
Then I understood that the key phrase here wasn't "in vain". It was "taking". Taking the name of god and using it as a tool for one's own goals.
Joel, here, is sad that his friend is getting sent home. This personally inconveniences both him and his friend, which effects Joel in a way that young men being denied their birthright does not.
So he finds an interpretation of scripture that says that god wants him, Joel Berry, to get his way, and that god wants all the young men who want a homeland and a birthright to go get fucked.
I'm not terribly impressed.
Replying to @JoelWBerry

NEW: Multiple federal sources confirm to @FoxNews that the suspect arrested for using a sledgehammer to behead a WW2 Iwo Jima monument in Quantico, VA on Tuesday is a Mexican illegal alien & former DACA recipient whose legal status expired this year.
Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano has now been charged with felony destruction of property and trespass with intent to damage property.
Per federal sources, Soriano illegally crossed into the U.S. in December 1999. He was granted DACA by the Obama administration in 2014 and had it extended for years, most recently by the Biden admin in 2024, but he lost his DACA status in August of this year when it wasn’t renewed by the Trump administration.

If Wisconsin Congressional candidate Matthew Arndt is actually charged for his “fuck lsraeI” comments - with enhanced “hate crime” charges - we're looking at an even more egregious version of Shiloh Hendrix.
Shiloh, of course, was famously charged with “disorderly conduct” for saying the word “nigger” to a Somali sex criminal who was haranguing her with his camera and demanding that she say the word “nigger.”
Unlike Matthew Arndt, though, Shiloh Hendrix was never physically arrested and taken into custody. Months after the Minnesota playground incident, officials brought the malicious “disorderly conduct” charges against her, which she was eventually - preposterously - convicted of.
They never tacked on a “hate crime” enhancement.
Arndt, on the other hand, has not yet been formally charged, but was physically arrested and taken into custody on “suspicion of disorderly conduct with a hate crime enhancement” for saying “fuck lsraeI” to an lsraeIi man who followed Arndt into a gas station to harangue him on camera.
In both cases, we have law-abiding Americans exercising their (non-existent) First Amendment rights in front of the camera lenses of foreigners who are, in fact, the ones PURSUING the speech criminals (the law-abiding White people saying words).
And just as they inverted reality in the Shiloh Hendrix story, the media is in overdrive painting the lsraeIi man as some helpless target of hate. Just an lsraeIi angel trying to protect his beloved son from the bloodthirsty hate agenda of random Congressional candidates in Wisconsin's 6th district.
In reality, of course, this lsraeIi shit-disturber is the one who followed Matthew Arndt off of the public roadway onto the property of a local business. Then, as Matthew Arndt tried to go about filling his gas tank, the lsraeI shit-disturber exited his own vehicle - leaving his precious, borderline-Jesus-of-a-son all by himself inside that vehicle - and INITIATED the confrontation with Arndt while filming him.
The very news sources painting lsraeI-dad as hero-victim simultaneously quote him admitting to creating the entire situation:
“I had my son in the back seat and tried to keep my distance from [Arndt], drove behind him, took a picture of his license plate, and when he pulled into a gas station I pulled in as well. I have no idea why I did this, but I pulled in as well with my camera on and was like, ‘Hey, what’s going on?’”
Are you fffuckin' kidding me?
And the police actually then executed an arrest of Matthew Arndt for saying “fuck lsraeI” to some random shit-disturber with a “fuck Hamas” bumper sticker who turns out to literally be from lsraeI?
OF COURSE they did.
“The relationship between the Mequon Jewish community and the Mequon Police Department is highly collaborative, focused on proactive security coordination, community safety, and a swift response to antisemitic threats. The Mequon Police Department works tightly with community leaders and the Milwaukee Jewish Federation's Community Security Program. The department maintains an active presence around the city’s major Jewish institutions.”
OF COURSE it does.
Listen, I understand that Green Party Matthew Arndt isn't exactly “our guy” outside of foreign policy. And while he's standing by his fundamental outlook on this issue, his performative self-tone-policing is entirely unnecessary. He'd have done himself a much bigger favor by simply making “Fuck lsraeI” his official campaign slogan. But such particulars are entirely beside the point of the matter at hand.
We are watching the funeral of Free Speech in America.
Whether it's White people saying... anything, or it's anyone saying anything against lsraeI, our “justice” system clearly holds the First Amendment in contempt, and constantly demonstrates the hierarchy of America's actual protected classes day after day in its selective, malicious arrests and prosecutions.
Predictably, just as with Shiloh Hendrix, not one “Free Speech” organization has spoken up in defense of Matthew Arndt.
And, once again, we all know why.
There are two untouchable taboos in America: Race and lsraeI.
Well, you can be anti-White and pro-lsraeI, but you forfeit all your “rights” as soon as you say true things about non-Whites or “our greatest ally.”
The Matthew Arndt story is not even major national news right now - and this is insane. Because it's not JUST the Matthew Arndt story, just like it wasn't JUST the Shiloh Hendrix story.
This is Free Speech being publicly executed before our very eyes, yet very few people seem interested in upholding this actual principle.
This is the complete and total ADL-ification of America, and that should horrify any sane person.
