I’m not a big fan of the whole “every team needs an all-black uniform” trend… But Mississippi State’s look is one of the best. Excited to see these in action.

Wheels ⬆️ to Starkville. #Sooners vs Mississippi State in just over 24 hours.

"I believe in growing where you’re planted." #Sooners DTs coach Todd Bates will get more and more opportunities as his coaching career progresses. But for now, he's content with helping OU's defensive line steadily improve. Story @SoonersOnSI: si.com/college/oklahoma/foot…

Quite possibly the worst Division I game I’ve ever watched. And yet I can’t stop watching.

I count FOUR #Sooners offensive linemen on the first availability report leading up to OU-Mississippi State. Fodje and Pierre-Louis have already been ruled out, while Fasusi and Ozaeta are questionable. MSU QB Kamario Taylor and RB Fluff Bothwell are also questionable.

Despite leading the #Sooners in rushing last year, Tory Blaylock has carried the ball only 17 times in 2026. Blaylock's role, however, could expand after he got a season-high seven touches in Oklahoma's loss to Kentucky. Story on Blaylock: si.com/college/oklahoma/foot…

“We have to create more turnovers… That's part of our formula for success each week.” The #Sooners rank 134th out of 138 FBS teams with a minus-8 turnover margin. According to Todd Bates, the defense must do its part to aid OU’s struggling offense: si.com/college/oklahoma/foot…

Todd Bates on forcing takeaways: “We have to force more turnovers… We need to close that margin and get that going in the right direction.” The #Sooners have a minus-8 turnover margin this year.

Oklahoma DTs coach Todd Bates calls Brent Venables the “ultimate leader.” #Sooners

Programming update: Defensive tackles coach Todd Bates is filling in for an “under-the-weather” Brent Venables at the podium.

OU offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle said he was told that Ryan Fodje’s injury “couldn’t get any worse.” He also said that the staff made the decision to pull him after “some of those things showed up.” #Sooners

“We have to build off the good things that did happen last game.” - Ben Arbuckle on the offensive game plan ahead of Saturday’s game vs. Mississippi State #Sooners

OU OC Ben Arbuckle on sticking with John Mateer: “We believe that John Mateer gives us the best chance to win… we have to eliminate back-breaking errors.” #Sooners

OU HC Brent Venables and OC Ben Arbuckle set to meet the press fresh off their loss to Kentucky. We’ll see what they have to say. Keep it locked in with @SoonersOnSI for updates.

"Just practice habits becoming game reality... I'm trying to build on that." Sophomore WR Manny Choice was arguably the brightest offensive star in the #Sooners' 21-13 loss to Kentucky. Now, he'll look to become a regular contributor. STORY: si.com/college/oklahoma/foot… @SoonersOnSI

Jake Kreul vs. Kentucky: - Six tackles - Three TFLs - 2.5 sacks (the most by an OU freshman since @GotBoz44) And now the #Sooners' freshman DE has been rewarded for his stellar performance: si.com/college/oklahoma/foot…

Field Vision: Oklahoma vs. No. 15 Kentucky 🏈📸🐴😺 Don't have many words for this one... But I chronicled what went wrong (and right, at times) in the #Sooners' 21-13 loss to the Wildcats. Visual story: si.com/college/oklahoma/foot… @SoonersOnSI

Before the season, I made a bold prediction that OU, Texas and Texas A&M would be three of the four SEC representatives in the College Football Playoff. I don't think I've ever had a take age so poorly.

While the #Sooners scored only 13 points and turned the ball over four times, HC Brent Venables was pleased with the offense's overall performance vs. Kentucky. "That’s maybe the best that we've played since our first game on offense." Story: si.com/college/oklahoma/foot…
