🆘 ONE MONTH TO SAVE THE SHELTER 🆘
This is an older video from when we first launched our Save Our Shelter appeal. It shows what our team had created in the barren landscape of Iraq—a haven for hundreds of dogs.
We had pools where they could escape the brutal summer heat. We had planted trees, kept the land clean and worked tirelessly to make the area feel safe and comfortable.
As you may have seen during Louise’s live broadcast yesterday, almost all of that has now gone.
The developers are working just metres away from the shelter, and the space available to our dogs grows smaller every day. We expect to lose the last remaining pool at the top of the driveway imminently, so our team is trying to encourage the dogs in that area to move closer to the shelter.
However, as this video shows, hundreds of dogs already live directly around the shelter. Moving even more into this shrinking space will not be easy.
We have approximately ONE MONTH to relocate—but we are still nowhere near our fundraising target.
We are not giving up.
We know how difficult things are for everyone, and having to ask our incredible War Paws family to dig deep once again weighs heavily on us. But the thought of reaching the end of this month and having to tell our dogs that there is no new shelter, no food and no more medical care weighs even more heavily.
We urgently need your help. Please donate whatever you can—the smallest donation makes a difference.

It must’ve been awful for Ruth, but I still think she behaves quite badly sometimes. I really wish a community resolution could’ve been put in place. It’s just an awful situation, no matter what. No winners here. #TheArchers

💦🐾 Driveway Dogs Update 🐾💦
Since the demolition of our pools in the driveway started, we have been working hard to encourage the dogs to move down towards the lower part of the driveway.
Some of them, however, got a little confused about the direction and have instead migrated to the single pool that remains just outside what used to be the entrance to our driveway, you can see our old driveway gate all filled in in this video.
At this stage, we do not know whether this pool will be staying there or whether it too will eventually be backfilled. But for now, it has become a lifeline for the dogs who have not yet moved further down the driveway. 💛
This pool used to be the quietest pool we had. A few dogs used it, but it was mainly used by local farmers who brought their livestock to drink.
As you can see from the video, that has now changed completely, and it has become a very popular spot for the dogs.
Losing around 50% of the pools as we head into August, historically the hottest month of the year, has been incredibly stressful. These pools are not just for fun — they are essential for helping the dogs cope with the extreme heat.
Our teams are working hard to make sure the dogs have access to as much water as possible. We are trying to build new pools at the lower end of the driveway, and we will continue encouraging the dogs who remain at the top to move down further, safely and calmly.
This is a difficult process, but we are doing everything we can to protect them. 🐶💛

The Community Right to Buy could be a game changer for Wales – if we get it right.
That's why @JBryantWales has demanded new clarity from the Welsh government on what will count as an Asset of Community Value, and what funds will support this legislation.

It’s time for another update on our incredible $20,000 Match Fund and we are now so close we can almost taste it!
🎉 We now need just £1,796 to reach our target and unlock the full $20,000 Match Fund.

We’ve tabled amendments to stop election ads like the infamous Brexit bus misleading voters again.
