ChapterPal now has a reading recommendation system. It analyzes what users read or keep in their libraries and suggests relevant content.
There are "More like this" and "Less like this" buttons to train the recommender to match your preferences.
Free accounts get three recommendations each week. Paid accounts get three recommendations daily, with the option to get more on demand.
Currently, ChapterPal has nearly 15,000 recommendable items (papers and books), and by the end of the year, it should have about 50,000 items.
Next year, I expect the number of recommendable items to reach nearly 250,000.
It always bothered me when I read papers and some textbooks that these derivations are rarely explained. With @ChapterPal, reading math-heavy texts written by authors who think the readers can read their minds is so easy.

In the long run, AI will make most people dumber because their brains will refuse to think, knowing they don't have to. It's a simple energy preservation mechanism needed for survival in the wild, well-studied and understood.
Only a small fraction of people with a built-in irresistible desire to learn new things and fundamentals will be capable of creating and fixing things.
The ability to think and formulate ideas in writing will become the most sought-after skill.
If you belong to this cohort of tireless learners, I'm building @ChapterPal for you.

A year of @ChapterPal: 6,160 registered users and 1,007 followers on @X.
With all the automation I've built during this year, I'm adding ~2 new books and about ~10 papers daily.
The entire content is free to read.
Try it if you haven't yet. Users say that once they get used to reading this way, they don't want to read in the traditional way.

A new curriculum on @ChapterPal : Prep reading for the retrieval-augmented generation interview
The curriculum offers a comprehensive technical foundation in retrieval-augmented generation by progressing from fundamental embedding techniques to advanced architectures and evaluation frameworks.
Students begin by mastering dense and sparse passage retrieval methods, such as Sentence-BERT and ColBERT, before examining how these mechanisms integrate directly into language model pre-training and inference via paradigms like REALM and RAG.
The coursework covers critical developments in few-shot learning, black-box model integration, and iterative reasoning agents, such as ReAct, while addressing practical challenges like context positioning sensitivity and long-tail knowledge retrieval.
By including state-of-the-art diagnostic tools like Ragas and innovative training strategies like ANCE or HyDE, this collection provides the expertise necessary to build, optimize, and evaluate modular, knowledge-intensive NLP systems capable of grounding model outputs in external data.

The LoRA paper is now on @ChapterPal: chapterpal.com/s/4y2jj82r/lo…
The LoRA technique from Microsoft made the finetuning of LLMs within reach of an average organization on relatively modest GPUs because it allows training only a small fraction of parameters by keeping the original weights of the LLM being finetuned frozen.
