Hello, financial repression.
Tax rate on cash savings interest set to hit extraordinary levels from 6 April 2027: 24% with £1,000 allowance for basic-rate taxpayer; 44% with £500 allowance for higher rate; 49% with no allowance for additional rate. Surely boosts demand for short-term, low-coupon gilts.

Can someone explain the logic of not funding our own defence forces but funding Ukraines ?
Today we’re announcing a new £10bn package of support for Ukraine. This funding will help Ukraine meet its immediate needs, support economic resilience, and help defend its sovereignty from Russia’s illegal invasion. We will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes.

Shit. Show.
🚨 SUMMARY: The OBR forecasts following John Healey's Budget - Welfare spending will rise to £431.3bn by 2030/31 - an increase of £97.5bn a year in cash terms - This includes £209.8bn on pensioner benefits, £110.7bn on Universal Credit, £69.6bn on disability benefits, £13.9bn on Child Benefit and £27.2bn on other welfare - Inflation will peak at 3.75% in early 2027, up from the earlier prediction of 2% - UK GDP growth will slow from around 1.25% in 2026 to 1% in 2027, before climbing to 1.6% in 2031 - Average UK unemployment will rise to 5.1% across 2026 and 2027 - The Employment Rights Act will "likely" have a negative economic impact because of reduced flexibility and greater uncertainty for businesses - The landlord tax increases (property income) could contribute to a long-term rise in private rents and discourage landlords from entering the market - Real household disposable income per person will be around 0.75% lower in 2030-31 than it expected in March 2026 - Higher earnings and frozen tax thresholds will increase income tax and National Insurance receipts by £9bn in 2026-27 and around £8bn on average in subsequent forecast years compared with March - Net migration is forecast to fall to 120,000 in the year to mid-2026, then gradually rise to 230,000 by the year to mid-2031 - Nominal weekly earnings growth will slow to around 3.5% in 2026, then average roughly 2.25% a year - Andy Burnham's first-time buyer scheme could raise house prices by increasing demand without enough new homes being built

#MKA Totally forgot we are working with Carester on the Pulawy Processing plant in Poland The deal was signed back in 2021, Carester were not the big EU RE processing behemoth they are today. In 2025 they signed a €200m deal with Japan and France to build a processing plant, Caremag. In 2026 $USAR took a stake in the company for 13% Mentioned in the presentation today, gives a lot of strength and credential to the Pulawy project imho (part of the $MKAR SPAC)

📱Your smartphone is more than glass, silicon and code. It is a pocket-sized mineral deposit. 🏛️University of Plymouth researchers proved it by grinding an entire phone into powder, heating it with an oxidiser at almost 500°C, dissolving the result and analysing its elemental composition Inside the tested phone they found: 🔹 160 mg of neodymium 🔹 30 mg of praseodymium 🔹 Gadolinium and dysprosium 🔹 900 mg of tungsten 🔹 70 mg of cobalt 🔹 90 mg of silver 🔹 36 mg of gold Apple’s 100% recycled rare‑earth magnets 🔗teapawt.org/roblun1/status/2048661… 🧲The rare earth quantities may look small, but NdPr-based permanent magnets are what help make a smartphone’s speakers and vibration motor compact and powerful. ⚖️Now multiply those milligrams across billions of electronic devices. ⚗️The real challenge is not proving that valuable materials are present. It is collecting devices, liberating their tiny components and recovering the rare earths economically at scale. ♻️Today, recycling supplies only around 1% of rare-earth demand, while enormous quantities remain locked inside discarded electronics. 📅⌚️📱💻🖥️Yesterday’s electronics are tomorrow’s strategic feedstock, but only if we build the collection, processing and separation capacity to recover it. A Budget that amounts to pissing into a westerly gale - tinkering around the edges while the British economy burns, with a treasury packed full of economic arsonists. It is an insult to every taxpayer, every struggling business and every family being bled dry by this rotten economic system. Nothing will change - we continue our uninterrupted plunge into the abyss. The country is drowning in debt. I don’t know how else to say this… We are BANKRUPT. We cannot afford any of this. Nothing. A crushing tax burden remains, small businesses are strangled and as employers we’re punished for creating jobs. For what? To fund millions of scroungers who can’t be arsed to work like the rest of us? Foreigners who turn up and expect housing, benefits, healthcare? When our tax goes up, THAT is what we are funding. Debt is now THREE TRILLION. We can thank lockdown for a large part of that. But please think about it. Three trillion. The scale is just unimaginable. Yet we get another Chancellor fiddling with the numbers while the country goes up in flames. Billions and billions and billions get added every month. It is GROWING. I don’t know how else to say this. The people governing us seem absolutely incapable of understanding one basic principle. Wealth is created by businesses and workers. NOT by politicians spending somebody else's money to win votes. NOT by the state. NOT by the public sector. I detest it. The British people, working mums and dads, are expected to work longer and harder to fund this corrupt charade - all while giant multinationals shift vast profits out of our country on the back of their work and bloated corporates extract outrageous contract profits from the taxpayer thanks to criminal public sector mismanagement. I challenge Healey or Burnham. Go and start a business. A cafe, a contractor, a small shop. Try being a sole contractor on the tools. Experience these taxes, the regulation, the stress. Have their families rely on sporadic invoices. Watch their earnings get siphoned off by a corrupt state. Let’s see how they get on. The system does not need reforming, or conserving - it needs smashing up. We need to rip apart, limb from limb, the failed assumptions that have governed British economic policy for decades. Cut the waste. Shrink the state. Slash the tax burden. Back small British businesses. Reward work. Restore the incentive to invest, build, employ and succeed. Get millions of healthy Brits OFF benefits. Give people a reason to work. BE UNPOPULAR. If healthy scroungers hate me for taking their benefits off them, good. Get used to it. It’s all that, on a scale never seen before, or the country will collapse further into a third world hellhole - only this time we’ll get the hyperinflation and total economic catastrophe in addition to the migrants. I refuse to leave a broken, bankrupt nation to my children and grandchildren. Restore Britain is offering a route out. It will be painful, more than anyone realises. But it is the only way.
