"Nothing is free..." ~H. Holm #Norway 🇳🇴
Replying to @SenSanders
Nothing is free in this country. We pay 40 % tax. If you add all the other taxes on top of that - we may pay as much as 60-70 % of our income to the government. So not free, mr. Sanders. Kind regards from Norway.
Brazil's currency and stocks tumbled on Monday as investors bet that Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's comeback election victory would compound fiscal worries for Latin America's biggest economy. ft.trib.al/pWHSD94
Would (or can) a restored democracy facilitate a BETTER economy...?

Asian-Americans in Harvard’s Incoming Class More Than Double, to 43.2 Percent
Newly released data on the Harvard College class of 2030 say the class is 43.2 percent Asian-American, a record high and more than double the level when Students for Fair Admissions first sued Harvard alleging racial discrimination in admissions.
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2023 that Harvard was unlawfully using race as a factor in admissions. Since then, the numbers of Hispanic and black students in the incoming Harvard classes have dipped, while the numbers of Asian-Americans have soared.

WHAT THEY AREN’T TELLING YOU ABOUT THE “SUNSET DUNES” OP-ED
Some hard facts facing Westside taxpayers and working families.
Siphoned Prop A Bond Money & Debt:
City Hall quietly siphoned $700,000 out of Prop A (the 2020 Health, Parks, and Streets Bond) to fund temporary skate spaces, fencing, and signage. Because bond funds carry long-term interest, taxpayers will actually pay back roughly $1.38 million for these surface activations, funds voters earmarked for citywide park safety, not unapproved highway marketing... 👇

SUNSET DUNES: QUESTIONS ABOUT PUBLIC FUNDING, TRANSPARENCY, AND ACCOUNTABILITY
Former San Francisco Recreation and Park General Manager Phil Ginsburg faced serious questions about the funding and oversight of Sunset Dunes before his departure.
According to investigative reporting by Mission Local, Recreation and Park Commissioner Larry Mazzola questioned Ginsburg about expenditures at Sunset Dunes.
Here are some concerning findings reported:
* Ginsburg initially suggested that much of the funding came from private and philanthropic sources.
* Financial records reportedly showed that more than 80% of expenditures were publicly funded.
* Approximately $700,000 from the 2020 Proposition A bond was directed toward Sunset Dunes.
* Questions were raised about transparency and whether commissioners were adequately informed about spending decisions.
Separately, Ginsburg faced scrutiny over his knowledge of financial problems involving the San Francisco Parks Alliance.
Public money demands public accountability!
San Francisco residents deserve to know how taxpayer dollars are allocated, whether expenditures comply with voter-approved funding restrictions, and whether proper oversight procedures were followed.
These reports raise legitimate concerns about transparency, although they do not establish that Ginsburg personally committed bribery or criminal misconduct.
Transparency isn’t optional. It’s a responsibility owed to every San Francisco taxpayer.

This should make one "speechless..." | @sfchronicle
P.S. I've been "unaware" in the past myself, but THIS, unequivocally, tops me (or anyone for that matter).
Rallying for midterm candidates and causes is allowing Gavin Newsom, Ro Khanna and Kamala Harris to boost their profiles, and has put some of the 2028 jockeying on full display. sfchronicle.com/politics/art…
Essentially, it'd be safe to assume that the entire state has been DEFRAUDED during the last two to three decades... (Really sad 😔 and tragic for the CA residents)
P.S. The whole "theatric" wasn't even that entertaining.

The best thing that can be said about @GavinNewsom is "he tweets a lot". If you look at his governance record:
> $30B of EDD fraud
> $24B on homelessness, increased homelessness
> $100B over-budget on rail
> only Governor to default on COVID relief debt
