Good heavens, it appears they CAN learn. A little.

It's a sad state of affairs when something that was "inspired" by Tolkien is a poor man's Game of Thrones ripoff.

Nothing from the Rings of Power is anything "we all love from Tolkien's writings."
Because none of it is actually FROM Tolkien's writings.
EXCLUSIVE🧙♂️
Gandalf has officially arrived in The Rings Of Power Season 3 – and he’s “the wizard we all love from Tolkien’s writings”.
“I found this new side to him,” star Daniel Weyman tells Empire. “The mischief, the twinkle in his eye.”

Scientists have created one of the most detailed 3D reconstructions of a human cell (eukaryotic cell) ever produced.
This groundbreaking model, often termed a "Cellular Landscape Cross-Section Through a Eukaryotic Cell," combines data from X-ray tomography, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and cryo-electron microscopy to map molecular structures in extreme detail.

This whole debate is so stupid and tiresome. There are two unmovable facts that are not going to go away no matter how many times people repeat Pope Francis’s extreme statements on the subject: (1) the death penalty is not intrinsically immoral, and to teach otherwise would clearly conflict with scripture and 2,000 years of previous Church teaching, including every pope who spoke on the matter up to Benedict XVI; and (2) whether the death penalty is in practice needed in order to protect society is an empirical matter of social science, which remains controversial among experts and which popes have no more expertise about than they have about plumbing or automotive repair. Anything any pope says about the subject of the death penalty has to be understood in light of these two data points. Just parroting what Pope Francis said over and over and scolding people who don’t understand how to reconcile it with (1) and (2) doesn’t accomplish anything, and the controversy will only continue to fester the longer churchmen ignore these points.

While most kids content feels like fast food created by giant companies who want your kids only to consume, there are genuine indie kids creators out there. @explodeybook is like a Farmer’s market of creator-driven kids content. But we don’t just want kids to consume, we get them in on the creative process. I couldn’t be more proud of this project.
Get a new giant colorful book every other month filled with content your kids will love.

I had been invited to speak later this month at St. John’s Seminary in Los Angeles. I have now been informed that the event is being cancelled, due to complaints from unnamed critics who find me too controversial. Meanwhile, the always controversial Fr. James Martin will be speaking this month at the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress, on the theme “Hope on the Horizon: LGBTQ Catholic Update 2026.” It appears that, for some in @ArchbishopGomez ‘s archdiocese, Fr. Martin is welcome to speak about that topic to educators of Catholic youth, but I am not welcome to speak to seminarians about how to defend the Church’s teaching on the soul’s immortality.

This is a more fundamental moral and social evil than any that right- and left-wingers fixate on today. They will continue to pretend otherwise until their civilization is gone, or they’ll wake up and return to what natural law and Christian morals alike command. No third option.
Pope Saint Paul VI, Humanae Vitae
Consequences of Artificial Methods
17. Responsible men can become more deeply convinced of the truth of the doctrine laid down by the Church on this issue if they reflect on the consequences of methods and plans for artificial birth control. Let them first consider how easily this course of action could open wide the way for marital infidelity and a general lowering of moral standards. Not much experience is needed to be fully aware of human weakness and to understand that human beings—and especially the young, who are so exposed to temptation—need incentives to keep the moral law, and it is an evil thing to make it easy for them to break that law. Another effect that gives cause for alarm is that a man who grows accustomed to the use of contraceptive methods may forget the reverence due to a woman, and, disregarding her physical and emotional equilibrium, reduce her to being a mere instrument for the satisfaction of his own desires, no longer considering her as his partner whom he should surround with care and affection.
Finally, careful consideration should be given to the danger of this power passing into the hands of those public authorities who care little for the precepts of the moral law. Who will blame a government which in its attempt to resolve the problems affecting an entire country resorts to the same measures as are regarded as lawful by married people in the solution of a particular family difficulty? Who will prevent public authorities from favoring those contraceptive methods which they consider more effective? Should they regard this as necessary, they may even impose their use on everyone. It could well happen, therefore, that when people, either individually or in family or social life, experience the inherent difficulties of the divine law and are determined to avoid them, they may give into the hands of public authorities the power to intervene in the most personal and intimate responsibility of husband and wife.

If you would like to hear what fluently spoken Latin sounded like with the same Classical pronunciation the ancient Romans used check this video of mine.
I speak Latin for 5 minutes non stop with no jump cuts. One single camera take.
Also answer me this. How much could you understand? I'll leave a comment with the full transcript with phonemic vowel length indicated for each word for further study and analysis.

So many people say this is the best movie monologue of all time... but I never got over the fact that there is no way for them to possibly be there. The whole time Sam was talking, I was annoyed at the impossibility of putting Sam and Frodo in Osgiliath.
