In 1987, Patrick Stewart refused to unpack his suitcase for six straight weeks. My throat still tightens every time I read why. Every Hollywood insider told the 47-year-old British stage actor that Star Trek: The Next Generation would be a disaster. Even his closest friend, Ian McKellen, begged him not to throw away his Shakespearean career on a television gamble. Stewart kept his bags packed by the door, waiting to be fired and sent home to London. That "six-week failure" lasted 36 years. Watching him late at night here in Japan, we saw something Hollywood never expected. In Japan, we call this quiet, unbreakable spirit "Fudoshin," an immovable heart under fire. Most action heroes scream and fire weapons to look strong. Captain Picard never needed to raise his voice. Born into deep poverty in Yorkshire, terrified of a violent home, he left school at age 15 and lost all his hair by 19, convinced his life as an actor was over before it began. Yet one English teacher, Cecil Dormand, handed that frightened 12-year-old boy a copy of Shakespeare, said "Read it out loud," and secretly paid for his first drama course. Never forget what happened decades later. On the morning Queen Elizabeth II knighted him as Sir Patrick Stewart, he invited that same retired schoolteacher to sit beside him at his knighthood luncheon. No suitcase left unpacked. No rage on the bridge. Just a cup of Earl Grey tea, a tug of his uniform, and three quiet words that commanded the galaxy: "Make it so." He passed away at 86 surrounded by live music, prayer, tears, and laughter. And this December, in Avengers: Doomsday, Professor X will grace the screen one final time. A boy who thought he wouldn't last six weeks in Hollywood gave the world an eternity of nobility. From Japan, with tears and our deepest salute: Thank you, Captain. Engage. ✨🖖🇯🇵

I am fitting one to the front of my Volvo. Too many bloody cyclists holding everyone up these days. Halfords sell them for £350. Fitting is thirty quid.

Having Polar Bears as pets is very rewarding, but it costs me a lot of money in food and vet bills. Think carefully before you buy them.

She is CLUELESS ! Pretty basic firearm safety. Don’t put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to shoot Don’t point the fucking thing at the guy next to you. @metpoliceuk Are you serious ? Put her in charge of making the tea before she kills her colleague.
.@metpoliceuk, this looks like a good way to blow your co-worker’s legs off. 1. Make sure your finger is on the trigger. 2. Make sure you are pointing the gun at someone.

If you are British , you are officially living in an Islamic toilet. Please do not serve in the police or the military. The place is not worth your sacrifices. The people who did this to you are evil.

I thought that must be bogus - but it is true. What is this world coming to? Bacon eaters are also less likely to rape children. They commit fewer acts of terrorism. Eating bacon should be compulsory. Stephen Gray, 65, a retired Cleveland Police officer with about 30 years’ service, was convicted in April 2026 at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court of sending a “grossly offensive” message under section 127 of the Communications Act 2003. District Judge Steven Hood found him guilty for resharing a Facebook post that showed a rasher of bacon and a man in a turban with the caption: “Fun facts about bacon! People who eat bacon have a lower chance of marrying a 9-year-old!” Gray said the post was satire referring to traditional Islamic accounts of Muhammad’s marriage to Aisha (married at six, consummated at nine in those accounts) and was meant to raise the issue of child marriage. The judge ruled it was designed to be offensive and could not count as a serious point because it was framed jokily, and ordered him to pay more than £1,000 in fines and costs. He now has a criminal record and is appealing, with the Free Speech Union instructing counsel.

Great news ! Apparently, private jet hire in Devizes is surprisingly affordable and mature women with enormous boobs are waiting to meet me. It was worth logging on the Sky news.
