"For me, walking requires focus. If I don't pay attention, I end up on the ground." CBC producer Kent Hoffman learned how to live with his rare form of muscular dystrophy long ago. Learning how to talk about it openly was a whole other challenge.

The magic of radio.
During my years hosting a jazz radio show one listener always called at the start of each broadcast.
His request was always for MacArthur Park performed by the Maynard Ferguson Orchestra.
He would tell me when he had break from work . I was to cue it up when he had made to his truck .
His truck had his only radio.
He never asked for anything else.
I always played it.The next week he'd call and thank me and ask for the same song.
One really happy customer meant alot.
