DEFINITION OF GRANDSTANDING: 4 @cambridgegreens councillors coming to tell the planning committee to reject improvements to the market square, but leaving their own two voting seats on the committee empty, despite reserves! Approved 3-2. Was this their intention? @CambridgeLDs

On balance positive to see the scheme make progress. Good synthesis between many parallel goals. A solid basis for now perfecting the operational plans with all those involved. Making the square a nicer place will be a gain to our traditional 7-day market which everyone values

Great that funding will make possible new council homes at Hanover and Princess Court and Stanton House in my ward. Lib Dem councillors have campaigned strongly for this, to preserve diversity of homes at modern standards close to the centre @cambridgelds cambridgeindependent.co.uk/n…

This @cambridgegreens councillor told @camcitco Planning Committee to reject the redevelopment which made this funding for social housing possible. Green posturing could have cost us this social housing. Her post now deleted to cover her tracks @cambridgelds

Delighted response to renewed temporary ping pong parlour at the Grafton. Such a popular amenity, a way must be found to make it permanent! @cambridgelds bbc.co.uk/news/articles/czxe…

Happy to see better planned HMOs now firmly on the agenda after 2 years inaction. What a difference Labour losing their majority and Lib Dems making it a priority makes! Congrats to the petitioners who shared the frustration @cambridgelds cambridgeindependent.co.uk/n…

We can now expect a reversal of some of Labour’s cutbacks in core everyday council services like public loos, street cleaning and public realm enforcement - thanks to LibDem votes in May’s local elections. We’ll keep pushing on these priorities! cambridgeindependent.co.uk/n…

Bruce Springsteen on Trump: “I couldn't care less what he thinks about me. He's the living personification of what the 25th Amendment and impeachment were for. If Congress had any guts, he'd be consigned to the trash heap of history." RETWEET if you stand with @Springsteen!

The United Kingdom is at its best when we’re true to our values: tolerance, decency, respect for individual freedom and the rule of law. We can't let Nigel Farage throw that all away by turning Britain into Trump’s America. Choose a brighter future with the Liberal Democrats.

Rachel Reeves admits Brexit has damaged the economy but won’t take the steps needed to fix it. Lib Dems have a plan to rebuild Britain’s trade with the EU and boost growth.
