🚨Coaches - Yes, @jalijahrutledg already holds 17 offers from programs like South Florida, Southern Miss, Marshall, Appalachian State, and several others but this 2027 Moody (AL) WR/DB remains significantly under the radar nationally in my opinion. Make sure to give him a look Name: Jalijah Rutledge Height/Weight: 5'10"–6'0" / 185 lbs Class Year: 2027 School (State): Moody HS (AL) Position: WR/DB (ATH) Jalijah Rutledge is a high-motor, championship-proven playmaker who delivers immediate perimeter explosiveness and culture-building intangibles for programs seeking reliable slot/outside weapons with special teams upside. His polished route tree, contested-catch reliability, and multi-sport athleticism translate to instant ROI in spread or tempo systems, while his work ethic and 3.4 GPA position him as a culture accelerator who elevates team standards from day one. PHYSICAL & TECHNICAL PROFILE Compact, well-built athlete with good length for his size and a low, explosive pad level that generates sudden separation. Film shows elite change-of-direction burst off the line, sink-and-drive in breaks, and immediate acceleration into routes; particularly sharp on slants, digs, and outs where he stacks defenders and creates late leverage. Hands are consistently strong and natural, plucking high and low with minimal body catch; excels in traffic and extends for 50/50 balls in contested windows. Post-catch, he drops hips efficiently, makes defenders miss in tight quarters, and finishes runs with competitive toughness. Defensive reps highlight mirror-and-match coverage skills with fluid hips and ball awareness. Track/basketball background (11.5 PPG) shows up in long-stride speed and body control on deep balls and kick returns (96-yard TD in state title game). Plays with consistent effort through the whistle and high football IQ in alignments. Overall, a scheme-versatile technician whose film pops with production against quality 5A competition. Strengths: Explosive route runner with crisp breaks, acceleration, and reliable hands in contested situations. Championship production (~60 rec, 1,152 yds, 11 TDs) plus special teams impact as a return threat. Multi-sport athleticism and competitive toughness that sustain effort across phases. High character with 3.4 GPA and visible leadership in camps/visits. SCHEME FIT & PROGRAM IMPACT Ideal slot or Z-receiver in spread/RPO systems (Air Raid, multiple) where his quickness creates mismatches underneath and stretches the field vertically. Contributes immediately on third downs, red-zone packages, and return units. Physical Profile: Compact explosiveness and play speed that wins at the catch point and after. Scheme Versatility: Fits spread, tempo, and pro-style concepts with route polish and return ability. Academic / Character Edge: 3.4 GPA, high work ethic, and family-supported maturity that builds program culture. Immediate Program Impact: Ready contributor in 5A championship pedigree adds explosive plays and special teams spark. Culture & Leadership Value: Grind-first mindset and visible preparation that raises teammate standards.
