Wildcat Nation! I’m incredibly proud of the resilience our athletes showed in last night’s game! After going into halftime down 21–7 following a pick-six, our Wildcats came out of the locker room on fire and fought their way back to tie the game. Although we came up just short, 42–41, I saw a team with the potential to be truly special. I saw players celebrating their teammates’ success and understanding that we are all in this together. That is a winning formula for a great football season. Every player matters. Not everyone will physically take the field in every game, but everyone’s contribution to the overall success of this team is extremely important. We made mistakes on special teams that must—and will—be corrected. As the head coach, that responsibility falls on me. Defensively, we will tackle better and do a better job of playing the ball when it is in the air. We will evaluate what went wrong, coach it better, and make the necessary improvements moving forward. Thank you to our fans for filling the stands at Turner Stadium! That was the largest crowd we’ve had for a season opener since I’ve been here, and our players fed off your energy all night. We will learn from this game, make the necessary corrections, and return ready to compete at the highest level. Proud of our Wildcats! We’re just getting started! #StrongerTogether #EveryKidMatters #GoWildcats #ProtectTheH #RelentlessPursuit @HumbleISD_Ath @HumbleISD @HumbleISD_HHS @SportCast_Media @WildcatsALLspo1 @FootballHumble
