No matter the league or level, ALWAYS ask......
🗣️ How many people are you recruiting in my class?
🗣️ How many have you offered at my position?

🫣 hey kids… let me give you a college coach POV with recruiting…
1. Read your message before you send it. Seriously😅… just read it one more time. (Example in the photo)
2. If you’re going to copy and paste from ChatGPT, at least edit it. The amount of texts I get that end with a random quotation mark (") is wild. 😭
We want to talk to YOU, not your chat.
3. If you get our number off social media, text us and then ask, “Wait… what school is this?” Or “Who is this that I’m talking to?” you’ve lost us coaches. If you’re interested enough to reach out, you should know who you’re contacting.
Coaches notice the little things. Professionalism, effort, and attention to detail matter just as much as your highlight tape. We all make mistakes… but you need to start being intentional with this process. Ask a trusted friend for help, not chat😅

Recruiting is JUST LIKE DATING: Everyone wants honesty until they hear it.

Good luck to all players this week at the Live Period Events. Remember:
1) Body Language is being evaluated
2) Effort, Motor, & Communication stand out more than you think
3) Make the right play, don’t try to do more than necessary
4) Be Coachable
5) Be a STAR in your role!
I’ve decided to delete my previous post out of respect for the high school program that was mentioned in the original message.
After speaking directly with the head coach, she informed me that the individual who contacted me is not a member of her coaching staff. I never want something I post to negatively affect a program, coaching staff, or group of student-athletes who were not involved in the situation.
I also want to clarify the context because the post has reached far beyond what I expected. My post was meant to shed light on a very real issue I experience as a woman in this profession. (Women will understand this)
We deal with disrespectful and unprofessional communication from male coaches and recruiters. ( I believe we should be able to communicate professionally with one another, regardless of gender) And yes… ABSOLUTELY if someone communicates with me in a disrespectful or inappropriate way, I immediately cut off communication with that individual. I will always protect my peace, my professionalism, and the culture of the program I’m responsible for.
The post was never intended to attack this high school, its head coach, staff, or players. Since the situation has grown beyond the original context, I am removing it out of respect for their program.
I appreciate the head coach for reaching out to me directly and professionally so we could have a conversation. At the end of the day, I’m always willing to have a respectful conversation and clear up a misunderstanding. 🏀💙💛
