Well done to @Sushmitaswarna0 for a fantastic first first-author publication!
🚨Fascinating study⏩#Enteric #Neuronal substrates underlying spontaneous & evoked neurogenic contractions in 🐭 colon‼️@AGA_CMGH @AmerGastroAssn🆕🔥
#ThomasGould @Sushmitaswarna0 @Emernib11 @CobineLab & colleagues @unrmed 🎉
🎯A large population of #nitrergic neurons of the middle colon shut their activity off just before contraction onset, whereas another population of nitrergic neurons initiated a response just after contraction onset👏
✅Distinct neuronal activity patterns underlie specific stimuli⚡️
🎯Nitrergic neurons but not NO is required for propagation of #CMMC✨
⏬Dive into to learn more about💡Using cell-specific tools to image myenteric neurons of mouse colon & how the distinct subtypes are active during spontaneous neurogenic contractions🔥
🎯Offer a new tool to identify specific defects in motility in pathologic conditions that exhibit disrupted #motility🙌

The end of the year is a good time to reflect. On paper it was pretty decent. Yet it has also been extremely hard most notably because I just lost my mom, my biggest supporter and confidante. We spoke daily and she listened to the good, the bad and the ugly. I miss her terribly.
Happy to share the latest publication from our lab now available online in @ctr_springer. @Emernib11 @unrmed

Pie eating contest for our #lcmekickoff @unrmed. While I didn’t win, I at least represented and cleaned the pie tin. 😂
Thank you to my support team led by @Emernib11 and @moritzgl ❤️
Meet a @unrmed scientist. Thank you for the opportunity to share a little about my research.
Meet Caroline Cobine, Ph.D., an associate professor in the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology @unevadareno! Her research is dedicated to understanding how the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) functions to prevent acid reflux.
