I have just shed tears of joy, overwhelmed with emotion.
I am thrilled to share that I will be attending Harvard.

5. Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton
Publix cheesecake is so damn good. My auntie came over and ate my slice, and I'm pissed. I have to make a Publix run; it’s all I've been thinking about.

I reject mediocrity. I do not care if I’m not relatable. I do not care if my skillset makes people feel insecure and thus unsupportive of my work. I feel that everyone should thrive for their highest form of artistry. I do not take low effort things seriously.
The same people who are quick to condemn others will bend over backward to justify their own behavior. You can dress it up however you want and tell yourself whatever makes you feel better, but the truth doesn’t become less true just because you’re not ready to accept it.

my current reads 🙂↕️ (or: books i have marked as "currently reading" but haven't picked up in months)
If you can’t get through the day without smoking and struggle to stop, you may be dependent. You don’t have to like hearing it, but avoiding the conversation won’t change your relationship with it.
Some people insist weed isn’t addictive, yet become angry, anxious, or irritable when they can’t smoke. I’ve seen behavior that reminds me of dependence on other substances, and I think people need to be more willing to acknowledge that cannabis addiction is real.
People are quick to recognize when someone has an unhealthy relationship with alcohol, but they get defensive when the same concern is raised about weed. Both substances can lead to dependence, and neither should be dismissed simply because one feels more socially acceptable.

I love working remote bc I can have dinner prepared before my child comes home. God I thank you for this life. I am forever grateful and thankful.
Was talking to a friend last night who made a comment about how there doesn’t seem to be many good people in the world, and I had to reject that idea. My position was that evil likes attention. It’s greedy and egotistical. It likes hierarchy and domination.
If we glorified and honored our ancestors the way we do religion, I think more of us would recognize the power in what they left us. Their sacrifices are part of why I take my education seriously, pursue my career, and refuse to make myself small.
Black women who love poetry, Shakespeare, and getting lost in beautiful literature, where are you? I need to find my people! 📖✨

I absolutely am going to need a “butler’s pantry” with its own counter in my next home because my Ninja lineup is going to be nasty 😭
A woman liked my TikTok posts about my books and invited me to her private group where everyone discusses books. I happily accepted the invitation, lol. Thank you! I guess my taste in books was my ticket in. 😂📚

There's a kind of self-respect that comes from finally doing what you promised yourself you'd do.
