A hook sets the expectation for the rest of the ad.
Getting great at making hooks can help you with making content.

PSA to all UGC creators: Your contracts should prohibit this. At Brighter Click, we add a protective clause into our client contracts prohibiting them from using your content to generate AI versions because we support the creators we work with.
We used to pay creators for hooks that went viral to use them in ads.
Now we just recreate them in Seedance.
Here's our process:
> Find a winning ad or organic post with a hook you want to recreate
> Download the video, throw it into Gemini to deconstruct the video (let me know if you want the custom GEM I made to get the best outputs)
> Feed the breakdown to claude and ask it to create a detailed JSON prompt with changes to the character to create a start image using nano banana pro/GPT image 2
> Run your JSON prompt with a reference screenshot from the original ad/content hook in Higgsfield
> Take your start image and animate it in Seedance 2.0/Kling 3.0
Rinse and repeat for any winning hooks from ads or organic videos.

meant to drop this a while ago
I was surfing on Reddit during the summer.
We were struggling a bit. came across a marketing guy.
we are having tremendous success last 6 months
One of the guys that I have to thank for the success that we are having right now is
@Colby__Flood
He’s got a software product, that analyzes creative.
he’s also got an agency that makes creative.
He spent a ton of time in my account diagnosing what was going on.
Gave me a report. some actions to take.
We executed off of that information.
I would’ve told you guys sooner but I wanted to break some records before I publicized what he was doing.
should check him out.
AI UGC is dead.
OpenAI is shutting down Sora.
You know, the model powering every "UGC creators are cooked" tool that flooded your timeline for the last year.
The "replace all human creators with AI slop" wave just lost its biggest engine.
Good riddance. 👋🏼
If you can replace your entire team overnight with AI agents, then you probably had a pretty bad team.
Dear @adnova_ai, please stop cold emailing me from 50 different domains.
A cold call I just received
Cold caller: Is this Colby?
Me: Yes, it is. Who's this?
Cold Caller: Let's go! W's in the chat. My name is...

Why did the first video get 1.5 million views on TikTok and the second only 170k when they are almost identical?
Let's talk about how changing the hook resulted in an almost 800% increase in organic viewership.
Special thanks to the star Archie, who I got in October, for helping teach this lesson.
While both videos show Archie talking, the first video does a better job at surprising viewers with a puppy that sounds like he's actually saying human words.
The combination of him saying "I want one" and the context of the bag of Cheetos sets up a captivating hook. People are used to dogs "talking" but not speaking words as if they were a parrot.
In contrast, the second video does have some funny puppy talk, but takes almost 10 seconds to get to him saying something that is easily identifiable as "human talk."
10 seconds is forever in the social media world.
What can we take away from this to help paid or organic social content?
Lead with your strongest moment - Don’t save the good part for later unless you have a Mr. Beast-style intro that teases the payoff to come. Put the most surprising, emotional or curiosity-driven clip in the first one to two seconds.
Reduce time to clarity - Your viewer should “get it” almost instantly. If they need to wait 5–10 seconds for the payoff, they won’t.
Use context to heighten intrigue - Archie + Cheetos + “I want one” creates a full story in a single beat. Pair your hook with a visual cue that quickly communicates stakes or intent.
Test micro-variations of hooks - Two nearly identical videos delivered an 800% difference in views and the first video shown gained over 1k followers for the account. Run multiple hook variations for every storyline to find the one that stops the scroll.
