I lot of the "traditional clothes" here are basically carnival clothes
Why do all countries have traditional clothes from their country and Brazil has carnival clothes? Like, these are clothes used only in samba parades, not something typically worn in Brazil itself

There's a current trend on TikTok about making fake wikipedia entries about fictional characters or events. But it's painfully clear that they haven't spend anytime absorbing the wikipedia style of editing or writing.

With how many non-fiction booktitles have the line "... and the Making of the Modern World", I'm inclined to think that there wasn't a specific moment that made the modern world.

From what I've read/seen, it's either the place falls into civil war/troubles (South Sudan) or the project is just the consolidation of wealth into an oligarchy that doesn't have to compete anymore (Montenegro).

First gold refinery in Burkina Faso. Burkina Faso's gold industry really took off in the mid 2000s when it became the country's the #1 export in 2008. 18 years for a gold refinery.
