@MedCouncilCan , are you really calling junior residents - aka some of the hardest working, undercompensated, front-of-the-frontline workers - "pooly informed" and "opportunistic" for advocating for common sense policy change?! The level of disrespect here is truly shocking.

@Royal_College New York requires me to have an independent Canadian licence and this restricted permit/licence is preventing me from starting my fellowship.

Where is the equity for residents who have worked hard to get fellowships or jobs in other countries and now cannot work for months? They have lost their incomes and their educations... 9/

I encourage all members of the @Royal_College to register for the meeting of the members on Thursday, May 28. (Especially the 2500 people who signed the letter asking for the meeting.) Registration deadline is tomorrow, Tuesday May 26. royalcollege.ca/special-meet… @ConcResidents

The @Royal_College trying to administer this exam should be an infomercial

With all my respect @vernnaik , I am dumbfounded at the degree of miscommunication surrounding our exams. We appreciate the prompt correction, but mistakes like these keep happening. I urge you and @smoffattbruce1 to ask why?

California's Supreme Court to hold a big closed-doors meeting today about whether the state should proceed with a bar exam in 2020. Law students say an emergency diploma privilege is “the only alternative that makes sense during a global pandemic” news.bloomberglaw.com/busine…

Thank you @FamPhysCan for following suit of @Royal_College and cancelling oral SOO's for the CFPC certification exam. Now if we can just encourage them to allow administration of the written SAMPs prior to July 1st...@ConcResidents @jddneary @McMasterFamMed

Foreign-trained doctors are welcomed to Canada, spend thousands of dollars to write exams, but are working as taxi drivers and office managers. They want to help during the pandemic. @dralimahdii describes the obstacles. #Cdnhospitals @SOCASMA cbc.ca/1.5525219

A written exam could be placed online within the month. Unless it is implied that our future colleagues would cheat.

@ConcResidents @Royal_College Now that the oral examination (which is main reason the entire exam was postponed) is cancelled, why is it not possible to hold the written exam before July 1st in a way that would respect social distancing? I think this needs to be addressed...

LOL. As if people having old exams is not already a thing. And IRL the internet, textbooks, and colleagues are all available to consult with anyway, so the exam is an extremely artificial and unrealistic situation- so not sure what exam security refers to. #MedEd

What I would like to see from @Royal_College is the talk called "Ethics of Clinical Resident Education in the time of COVID19: How do we keep our Trainees Safe as 1st Priority?" And to know those scheduled to do exams will graduate on time. #MedEd

Wouldn't admitting people to fellowship without the exam based on FITER be an endorsement of CBD by @Royal_College ? Isn't that one of the points of CBD? That exams are a poor measure of competence? #MedEd
You’re absolutely right, and of course education should be really important to all of us right now. I think it’s just hard for us PGY5s to see the @Royal_College demonstrating ++ flexibility and innovation when it comes to CBD and not at all when it comes to administering exams.

Speaking of CBD, it would be fantastic if the Royal College could modify their antiquated methods of certification for the current cohort of graduating resident in the midst of a public health crisis.

I think trainee safety and education quality have to be balanced, preferably erring on the side of safety. But the PGY5s also deserve to have the opportunity to graduate on time. Very dissappointed in @Royal_College in not doing the right thing yet for graduating residents.

Is the @Royal_College going to take show some leadership and take the steps necessary to ceritify the current R5 cohort? In the face of an unprecedented challenge the college has postponed the exams and done literally nothing else on the matter. Disappointing response so far.

@fordnation @celliottability Changing this legislation will allow us to serve Canadians’ health care needs in this unprecedented health crisis. Canadians deserve the very best care which we are prepared but unable to provide given this #examfail
