The factoid that '50% of marriages end in divorce' was kinda true decades ago. But the divorce rate peaked in 1980. Now, less than 40% of all marriages since 2000 end in divorce. For college graduates, it's under 30%. For college graduates who get married after age 25, and who don't have any kids before marriage, it's under 20%. Anybody promoting the outdated, deceptive 50% rate has some kind of anti-marriage or anti-natalist agenda. It scares young people away from getting married and having kids. That is their goal.
the american divorce rate is at its lowest in over 50 years congratulations to the 16% of 18-29 year olds who are married

The fact that Trump will remove tariffs to help Republicans win elections, but he won’t remove tariffs to help Americans afford necessities, tells you exactly what his priorities are.
BREAKING: The United States is expected to remove 50% tariffs on some Canadian products in a bid to help Maine Senator Susan Collins and other Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections. Full Story: on.wsj.com/4i6fCyU

Vance: Our job is to make sure elites in DC don’t get richer by having access to the President of the United States. But I don’t think that’s a concern with Trump.

The reason why Hayek is just (if perhaps only largely) *correct* about the economy is that that most people are very, very smart—but only about their own immediate and narrow area of operation. And no on understands the broad scale well enough.

If you want to know why America is polarized, it’s the fault of the media. Yesterday, the Free Beacon, a conservative outlet, caught Abdul Sayed in a lie when Abdul denied his family had a connection to the Muslim Brotherhood. The FB showed a tweet by his own sister saying their mother belonged to the MB. The revelation that Abdul lied about his family ties to a radical Islamic terrorist group was ignored by NBC, ABC, CBS’s nightly news shows. The NYT and WP haven’t covered it. This should be a screaming front page story. Instead, the MSM runs cover for Abdul. The American people just want to know the truth about their politicians. Instead, the media are helping Abdul cover up the truth. Abdul has a lot to hide. It’s a tragedy the MSM is part of the team helping him hide it.

KILL ALL TICKS AND MOSQUITOES
I signed this letter calling to ease regulatory barriers on programs that will EXTERMINATE TICKS AND MOSQUITOES. The free, independent childhoods of the mid-20th century were not random. They happened because for over 100 years before the Boomers were born, Americans waged total war on the bugs. The Rockefeller sanitary program against hookworm, the New Deal sanitary privy program, mosquito extermination laws and swamp-draining programs, TVA's malaria control program in Tennessee, new ship fumigation rules, ground-squirrel poisoning programs, and many others. Many of these programs failed and did serious environmental damage. But many succeeded at low cost and eliminated or reduced the risk of tons of outdoor diseases and dangers. Today, we have decades more of scientific research to help guide us towards safe and reasonable options for fighting the bugs. It couldn't come soon enough: invasive mosquito populations are exploding, spreading new diseases and making summer evenings miserable around the country; rapidly growing tick populations are spreading novel diseases that can ruin kids' lives. Hard-won victories over the bugs have been ceded for many reasons, mostly negligence driven by a failure to recognize what we had won by the 1950s and 1960s. It's time to act. Kill the bugs once again. Make backyard in the summer safe again. thefai.org/posts/supporting-…

We have 5 years to build a counter-TBLC force, a coalition of the productive, to force benefit cuts on the idle rich, as a means towards preventing massive new deficit spending, massive new tax hikes, and cuts to essential government programs (defense, R&D, etc.) If we fail, those outcomes are inevitable.

Someday, we will have a Christian dictator who will rule with a rod of iron. His name will be Jesus. He will judge the nations from David’s throne. It will be awesome. Until then, all the demented clowns who try to make it happen before the appointed time are destined for spectacular failure that would be comical if not for the piles of bodies they leave in their wake.

Vance has to redefine socialism as "things I oppose" because if he defined it in terms of its actual economic philosophy, he'd agree with much of it.
Asked how he defines socialism, @VP Vance says: "I don't know what the term means anymore. I think in reality, what it actually means in the American context is that you want to replace American workers with foreign workers, and you want boys to play in girls' sports."

Okay "renter," Grandma isn't your employee. 1. Hire a babysitter. 2. You asked. She said yes. It was a request, not an obligation. 3. Chasing kids around exhausted two parents in our 20s. Acting like a healthy 64 year old can't have less stamina than you is a remarkable combination of entitlement and cluelessness about aging. 4. She wants to be Grandma, not your unpaid disciplinarian. Seems reasonable. 5. She already had plans. Why exactly should your conference automatically outrank her life and commitments? 6. She literally told you to have a backup plan. That's not "bailing"; that's giving you advance warning so you can act like an adult and plan accordingly. And throwing "(boomer)" in front of "mom" doesn't strengthen your argument. It just makes the whole complaint sound petulant. Your mother raised her children. She isn't obligated to raise yours, or rearrange her life whenever you need childcare.

I actually think it’s that wokeness serves a genuine need people feel for a clear and coherent set of norms, rules, and ways of speaking. Woke culture provides answers to the question “how should I live” at a time when there aren’t many alternatives on offer. That appeal remains.
Having gone through multiple rounds of this, it seems that cancellations are an expression of perceived political power. The left feels empowered and so woke is back on the menu.
