A New Jersey-based fan named Rev Ciancio visited 77 different ballparks this season. At each one, he would get a hot dog with mustard, eat it after “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” and grade it. Here are his top 10:
10. Joliet Slammers (National Association of Professional Baseball): A “rock solid” offering.
9. Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (Triple-A PHI): “Exactly what a ballpark hot dog is supposed to taste like.”
8. Sussex County Miners (National Association of Professional Baseball): “They’re the only team that I’ve been to that has a ripper, where they’re actually deep-frying the hot dog.”
7. Albuquerque Isotopes (Triple-A COL): “It’s almost foul to highlight how good the hot dog was because there’s so much good there.”
6. Boston Red Sox: “This is one of the Major League stadiums where the lore of the hot dog holds true.”
5. Richmond Flying Squirrels (Double-A SF): “It was just a well-rounded hot dog. Like there was magic and you don’t know why.”
4. Brooklyn Cyclones (High-A NYM): “It’s part of their culture to have a good hot dog.”
3. Chicago Cubs: “I feel like Chicago teams have a right and a duty to produce good hot dogs.”
2. Chicago Dogs (American Association): The poppyseed bun was an “ingredient difference maker.”
1. Reading Fightin Phils (Double-A Phillies): “When you eat a hot dog at Reading, it’s as though every single hot dog was individually cooked. One person took one hot dog and made sure it was perfect.”

Regardless of the outcome, one player has already won a World Series ring.
Jake Woodford pitched 23.1 innings for the Brewers this year, got DFA's and later signed with the Rays, pitching 1.1 innings late in the year

BUNTING MANIPULATES PITCHER APPROACH AND SETS THE TABLE FOR FUTURE MOMENTS
With 2 outs and no body on in the 3rd inning, losing 4-0, @Brewers Manager Pat Murphy told #9 hitter David Hamilton to lay down a bunt in a seemingly unimportant at bat.
Why?
Because Murphy knew Hamilton was known for bunting and they could set the table for a future at bat and big moment later in the game where he’d get a pitch to hit.
And that’s exactly what happened.
Hamilton bunted.
Hamilton got out.
But in the 5th, in Hamilton’s next at bat, he got a pitch in the heart of the plate and singled scoring a run and bringing the Brewers within 1.
And in the 9th, Hamilton did it again, homering on a get me over slider and extending the Brewers lead to 6-4.
You bunt to create future moments, and the Brewers did just that.

Two years ago, Jake Bauers told his agent he was retiring. His wife would return to teaching while he stayed home with their child.
Three days later, she told him she was pregnant. He returned to baseball for the health insurance.
Tonight, he hit the go-ahead home run in the NLCS.
What a story. What a swing.

Jose Ramirez was asked why he was laughing while rounding 3rd:
J-Ram said he knew a changeup was coming and Adell could rollover to the left side of the infield.
So, he tried to steal 3rd hoping to pull Caminero and Walls to the bases and open up a hole in the infield 🤯

If Milwaukee and Cleveland meet in the World Series, it would be the first time in history that the World Series features two cities where the Edmund Fitzgerald once docked.

The music in the video is the rain version of "Beneath the Mask" from the Persona 5 soundtrack, not elevator music. Padres staff have played Persona tracks at Petco Park all season.

Maybe the weirdest MiLB story of the year?
On July 19th, Brady Ebel was at the plate with a 2-0 count for the Wilson Warbirds when play was stopped due to a thunderstorm. They suspended the game.
By the time play was scheduled to resume on August 25th, Brady had been promoted. When the game restarted, his brother, Trey, stepped into the box to finish the at-bat that Brady started. He worked a walk 🤯 atmlb.com/3UQc4ZQ
