St Gulthlacs Church in Little Ponton near Grantham is the final resting place of Richard Todd, probably best known for his portrayal of Wg Cdr Guy Gibson in The Dambusters. Only a few years earlier he fought alongside Maj John Howard on Pegasus Bridge during D-Day…..1/2

It is now 37 years ago that the last episode of #Blackadder Goes Forth was screened. This TV gold concluded 3 hrs of unmatched of comedy to many of us. But there was a deeper message throughout encapsulated in this moving final scene.

Refs can’t win. Postpone the game and get moaned at because there’s nothing wrong with the pitch (a regular excuse), or play and then get moaned at because the pitch is a mess. Let’s just not play between Oct & March…..
Fortunate that @Dunkirk_FC were playing @southwellcityfc 10 mins down the road from my mom game. Ended in a 10 goal thriller with the away team winning 6-4 after being 4-1 and 5-2 up. Great hospitality from Dunkirk too👏

Fantastic new art work in my village on the old barn doors in Greasbrough just in time for Armistice day
Out with notepad & pen in big coat weather for a Div 3 game in the @NottsSeniorLge. Called off 15 mins before KO due to the away team not bothering to turn up. Home team £80 out of pocket for pitch hire and a wasted 55 mile round trip for me. The delights of grassroots football..
Joining in on the scaremongering Tobias??? The vast majority of MPs would absolutely shit themselves if something happened (the PM would be lost without his beloved TikTok for starters) which is hardly an example to set.
Another example of the lack of knowledge of the laws by (on this occasion) fans. Personally I’d put the blame down to the media as it’s them who constantly go on about the ‘last man’.

Don’t worry, we have a very sophisticated system to track the strength of Storm Austen.

The giant poppies are back on the M8! Look out for them on the grass pyramids at Junction 3A Bathgate, marking the 2026 Scottish Poppy Appeal.
Thank you to the Scottish Rugby Union, The Pyramids Business Park and LineMarkUK for making this display possible.

Tom Skerritt is gone at 93.
Viper from Top Gun. Captain Dallas in Alien. Duke in MASH. The dad in A River Runs Through It. An Emmy for Picket Fences.
Before Hollywood, he served in the United States Air Force.
No scandals. No lectures. Just a working man's actor who showed up and made every movie better.
They don't make them like Tom anymore.
Rest easy, Viper.
I’ve seen it all now🤷🏻♂️
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Glasgow's Kelvingrove Museum has removed Egyptian mummies from display because there was no 'informed consent from the deceased individual'👇

This video of youngsters from south London travelling around the capital is absolutely marvellous.
We can see the calm streets of the 1950s mixed with energetic yet innocent taunting from the lads who feel very much at home.
Among the familiar locations that they pass is the Lambeth Walk pub, which once traded at 17 Lambeth Road (at the junction with Lambeth Walk), London SE11 (near Lambeth North station)
These lads would have been born during WW2 and known of both harship and loss. Yet, like all those around them, here they are in both smart attire and high spirit.
The more you watch, the more you'll see. This one's a bag of emotions waiting for the viewer. I couldn't help but notice the order and civility that dominated every street they travelled.
It's videos like this that remind us that a few steps back would be a great leap forward. ⏳️ @Britains___Pubs

This one's spectacular. In the 1960s, London's Mews were still being used to keep horses. This clip spoils us with a lovely glimpse of the people, pubs, and lifestyle among the cobbled backstreets that have since become expensive housing. They certainly had more personality then than nowadays. @Britains___Pubs
