Relationships = the key to successful coaching
Jon Gordon

Dabo once said to me “A lot of teams focus on the process. Yes you must have a process. We have a process too. But we are all about the relationships that drive the process.” Relationships > Process

Players: Too many HS players think that being able to “get buckets” is the ticket to a college scholarship. Far more important is knowing your role, perfecting it & executing it. Use your role to help your team WIN! College coaches want kids who’ve carved a niche for themselves.

Tom Brady seemed to think that 4th down play was 3rd down.
A coach's true success is measured not in the number of wins produced, but in the number of winners produced.

Coaches: When you ignite a player’s passion, you help unleash a powerful force on the world. Not just for now, but for life. A passion for one thing often creates passion for other things in life. Develop meaningful relationships w/ your players & help them realize their passion.

To the Class of 2020: Your senior year has been unique, to say the least. No last day of school. No last quarter. No spring sports. No prom. No graduation ceremony. But look on the bright side: You will definitely have conversation starters at your reunions.

Be an achiever, not a complainer. Be a winner, not a whiner. Make society better, not bitter. Today, as I salute you on your graduation, the words of advice I offered you on your last day of eighth grade still ring true, perhaps more than ever:

Some fans? Just the ones that know anything about college basketball.
Challenge accepted! I have been nominated by @marcuslanning to post a picture coaching within 24 hours of being challenged or donate $20 to a local charity! Then nominate other coaches! Next up: @Shawnokane12 @MattBrumley2
