Dear Secretary Bessent @SecScottBessent, On October 14th I wrote to you about Bank of America @BankofAmerica. You did not answer. 3.6 million Americans did. I want to tell you what that looked like from where I sit, because I do not think Washington understands it yet. The messages did not come from one side. They came from Republicans and Democrats, from veterans and nurses and small business owners, from people who have not agreed with each other about anything in a decade. They all said a version of the same sentence. We have had enough. That is what a national security issue looks like when it finally breaks through. It does not pick a party. It belongs to everyone who has a kid, a bank account, or a flag on the porch. So let me be plain about my concern. I am worried that nothing is going to happen. The fine has been announced. The press cycle is already turning. In a few weeks the number will be forgotten and the bank will be back to business. I have watched this exact sequence play out before, and I am writing to you now, while there is still a window, because once that window closes it does not reopen. I am also widening this letter, because Treasury does not act alone. To the Department of Justice @TheJusticeDept and to FBI Director Kash Patel @FBIDirectorKash: Director Patel, you were not in the chair when this happened, so I want you to hear it from me directly. In 2011 I walked into the FBI with everything I had on HSBC. Not a tip. Boxes. Names, account numbers, transaction records, internal emails. Agents worked that evidence for over a year. I trusted them, and I still believe they wanted to do their jobs. Then the settlement was announced. $1.9 billion. I called the agents and asked the only question that mattered. When do you raid the building and when are the arrests? Their answer was four words. Our hands are tied. I have thought about those four words every day since. Not because the agents failed me. Because somebody above them decided that a bank was too important to treat like a defendant. That decision was made quietly, by people whose names I will never know, and it has been made again every time since. Director Patel, you now have the authority to make a different one. I remember the words carved into the stone outside the federal building in Philadelphia the day I walked in to report @HSBC: justice is the defense of our liberty. I believed that. I still want to. But a justice system that handcuffs a dealer on the corner and sends a bank a bill is not defending anyone’s liberty. It is choosing whose liberty counts. To Brian Moynihan, Chief Executive Officer of Bank of America @BankofAmerica: Mr. Moynihan, your bank just agreed to pay $1.2 billion for failures that regulators called willful. I have a few questions, and the 3.6 million people reading this would like the answers too. Who was fired? Not reassigned. Not retired early with a package. Fired, by name, for the conduct the government described. What has actually changed in your anti money laundering program? Not the budget line. Not the consultant’s slide deck. What is different today about how an alert gets cleared and who is allowed to say stop? Were there any consequences inside the building at all? Or did this land the way it landed at HSBC bank, as a line item? And how much is your bonus this year? I ask because I know what it costs a compliance officer to raise his hand inside a bank like yours. I would like to know what it cost anyone at the top. Do you even care? I am asking sincerely. I would like to be wrong. Here is what I did about all of this, and why it matters to this letter. After the government declined to help me or any of the whistleblowers I have met since, I built the thing I wished had existed. Tactical Rabbit is a private intelligence agency. We find the truth, we prove it, and we put it in the hands of people who will act on it. I made a decision a long time ago that if the government would not stop the next HSBC, I would. So to anyone inside a bank reading this who is looking at something they know is wrong: if your bank will not act, and the government will not act, come to me. I will get the truth to the public. That is not a threat. It is a promise I have already kept once. Mr. Secretary, Director Patel, the Department of Justice, and Mr. Moynihan: four addresses, one question. Will anyone be held accountable? Not fined. Not suspended. Not asked to attend training. Accountable. Please end the cycle of too big to jail. I will not stop until there is change, and neither will the millions of Americans standing behind this letter. Answer them. We need a banker in jail. Everett A. Stern HSBC Whistleblower Founder, Tactical Rabbit

I am not going away @vladtenev @DanGallagher AMC Entertainment does not consent to Robinhood creating Stock Tokens to replicate AMC shares in the United States (the SEC requires you to get our consent, or failing that, at least with us to stand down). They are fake, synthetic shares, which could impact our capital structure. AMC should control our financial destiny, not Robinhood.

This is crazy. I was a colicky baby, too. It all makes sense now.
A doctor's mistake when he was 30 days old. matthew perry felt it for the rest of his life. he was a colicky baby who cried all the time. around 1970, an older doctor in a white coat told his parents: if he cries, just give him this. phenobarbital = a strong barbiturate. a sedative that is very easy to get hooked on. what he says in this clip: → 0:13 "i don't blame my parents at all for this" → 0:35 the doctor's fix was phenobarbital → 0:44 he got it for 30 days, from day 30 to day 60 → 0:46 there are baby photos of him, knocked out cold → 1:01 he thinks it messed up his sleep for life what actually got me is how calm he is. no anger. he says if he was a parent back then, he'd have done the same. the baby stopped crying. the doctor said it was fine. the problem was solved. 14 years later he drank a whole bottle of cheap wine in a backyard in ottawa. he said it was the first time he felt normal. i rewatched 0:55 three times. "stoned babies are fun, i guess." he laughs. it's not funny. a 30-day-old on barbiturates isn't a story about bad parents. it's what happens when a quick fix works and nobody asks what it costs later. what did your parents think was totally normal back then?

Hey there @vladtenev and @DanGallagher: My voice will stay loud. You supported the SEC on U.S. stock tokens. They must carry voting rights, and companies can opt out. How hypocritical of Robinhood if not adopting those same principals offshore. Don’t spit in the face of the SEC.

On Monday (9/21), SEC Commissioner Hester Pierce resigned her post effective October 2. That means there’ll be only 2 SEC Commissioners, out of the 5 mandated by law. Investors are best protected by an active vibrant SEC. I hope those 3 vacancies get addressed in the near term.

Yes.
I want to extend my highest praise to Paul Atkins, Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, for the wise decision — perhaps a better characterization being the brilliant decision — he announced today on behalf of the SEC about Stock Tokens.   The SEC granted a five year period of experimentation on this topic in U.S. markets. In doing so, the SEC laid out some inviolate and unequivocally annumerated conditions:   The SEC highlighted that “Investor Protection Is Not Optional.” The SEC clearly laid out that even as it puts forward an “Innovation Exemption,” the SEC has an implicit right to govern on this issue. This means that at least within the U.S., there is an underpinning that appropriate regulatory bodies can regulate  as they think is needed. I believe that over the last full century, investors have best been protected when U.S. regulatory bodies have been involved and U.S. securities laws have been applicable. Thank you, SEC.   The SEC also  emphasized  that there can be “No Synthetics.” Any such Stock Tokens must carry full voting and dividend rights. No synthetics is such a vital and basic concept. Thank you, SEC.   Also of crucial importance, the SEC mandated that “Issuers Can Object.” It said that issuers of stock must have the opportunity to object and prevent their security from being trading on a Tokenized Securities Venue if companies so choose. This puts companies in charge of their own securities and capital structures, not brokerage houses. Thank you, SEC.   I applaud what the SEC did today. Bravo!   And @vladtenev and @dangallagher I note that at Robinhood you accepted and supported the SEC’s ruling today. I call on you now to adhere to the exact same standards internationally. How hypocritical would it be if Robinhood’s stock tokens abroad were to differ materially from stock tokens in the U.S. on these hyper-important matters of investor protections, synthetics and issuer objections.    Adam Aron Chairman and CEO AMC Entertainment

This is the way. Play all the sports.
Josh Allen reveals he had zero scholarship offers coming out of high school so he sent 1,000 emails with his highlights attached to every coach in the country, only two responded “The email said something like, Hey, I’m Josh Allen. I’m 6’5”, 220 pounds. I feel like I’d be a great fit for your program. Here’s my Hudl. These are my stats… I literally just went copy, paste, copy, paste and sent it to every single coach I could find an email for.” “I played in a small town called Firebaugh, California. I had zero offers out of high school. I had no preferred walk-ons. A couple Division III schools were trying to give me academic scholarships so I could go play there, but I didn’t want to make my parents pay for me to go somewhere.” “So I went the junior college route. I felt like I was good enough to play, which is obviously why I kept going. I wanted to go to junior college, earn a scholarship and kind of pay my family back for everything they had done for me.” “I also played football, basketball and baseball. I was a three-sport guy, so I didn’t spend my summers going around to every quarterback camp. I got the chance to play different sports, feel different emotions, meet different types of people and learn how to deal with all of it.” “I think that’s something a lot of kids need to continue doing, play more sports. Every sport teaches you something that you can ultimately use later in life.”

Pete Alonso met up post game with Mike, Nick & Chris - the trio of Mets fans who caught his 300th career home run. They exchanged the ball for signed baseballs, bats and Alonso to sign their jerseys. Pete brought beers and offered the trio tickets to games in Baltimore

My issue is simple: AMC shareholders have every right to be angry and demand answers. Robinhood says its AMC Stock Tokens are backed 1:1. Fine. Then prove it. The token itself is not an AMC share. Token holders don't directly own AMC stock and don't receive the normal rights of AMC shareholders. AMC also did not create, authorize, or endorse this product. So where are the receipts? Who holds the underlying AMC shares? How many shares are actually held compared with the number of tokens outstanding? Who independently verifies that 1:1 backing, and can investors see that verification? And I want to know why AMC. Why create a financial product using AMC's name and ticker without AMC's involvement? What other publicly traded theater chains received the same treatment, and why or why not? That's why AMC investors are angry. We're not asking for rumors or promises. We're asking for transparency and independently verifiable facts. If it's truly backed 1:1, show us. It shouldn't be controversial to ask for the receipts.

Hey there @dangallagher, in the past week you and @vladtenev CEO of Robinhood have made public comments defending your use of and “standing behind” your relatively new Stock Token concept. I think this practice is abhorrent. It defeats the very ethos of share ownership. Public financial markets were created so that companies could raise capital, and so that investors could share in the wealth created as a result. Not to turn investing instead merely into some gamified business-oriented casino. If by your own admission you can’t offer or sell Stock Tokens to “U.S. persons” why does your U.S. web site talk about them so much and so favorably? Vlad: How can a U.S. brokerage firm be proud of creating an offshore Channel Island operation in far off Jersey specifically with the intent to operate outside U.S. securities laws? Is there potential confusion that Stock Token purchasers are getting less than all the rights accorded to real shareholders, and if so do you care? If those tokens are theoretically backed 1:1 by real shares, but hypothetically some of those underlying real shares are in turn lent out to short sellers, are the Tokens really backed 1:1 in fact? Dan: I think U.S. securities laws have protected the public very well over the past century. You spent much of your career at the SEC. Deep down, in your heart of hearts, how can you really think a world without the precautions imposed by U.S. securities laws creates a better, safer environment for investors? Choose whatever descriptors you think best make sense under the circumstances: Non-regulated, derivative, synthetic, sham, debt-backed securities trying to simulate actual real stock, or pick your own words if these don’t fit. Stock Tokens may make you an innovator in your own eyes. In my eyes, they bring your firm dishonor.

Robinhood's "Tokenized Stocks" are a threat to our national security: - Citadel is owner of Alpaca - Alpaca is broker & custodian of Robinhood's stock tokens (illegal in the USA, Canada, UK, etc) - Alpaca's doc's state the tokens can be loaned to institutions to SHORT (then LOANED again) - RH issues tokens outside the USA (so SEC can't stop them) - RH has to tell Alpaca when to buy shares to keep tokens 1:1 - RH polices themselves on 1:1 backing 🚔 - If RH doesn't tell Alpaca to buy shares, the tokens aren't 1:1 backed - RH hired a 3rd party to "verify" the 1:1 backing and report it 1-TIME PER YEAR (up to 15 months later) 🚨 Does this sound healthy for US financial markets? -- This is the OPPOSITE of Making America Great Again! -- REPOST & BOOKMARK!!! THIS IS INSANE. Robinhood gets penalized. Pays a fine. Keeps operating. Again. And again. And again. And NOW we have AMC “tokens” claiming 1:1 backing? THEN SHOW THE SHARES. Where are they held? Who is the custodian? Where are the locates? Where is the independently verified proof of 1:1 backing? You don't get to slap “TOKEN” on something and magically create a loophole around securities laws. If these tokens are being used to manufacture synthetic exposure, hide failures, dodge delivery obligations, or manipulate the real market INVESTIGATE IT. Stop treating massive financial penalties like fucking parking tickets. Knowingly commit financial crimes? PROSECUTE THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE. No more fines. No more loopholes. No more hiding behind corporate checkbooks. AMC INVESTORS WANT RECEIPTS. SHOW THE SHARES. SHOW THE BACKING. SHOW THE PAPER TRAIL. FIX THE SYSTEM. NOW.
