I googled ‘Nobel prize winner who disputes Climate Change’, and John Clauser’s name popped up. Should I discard everything he says on Climate Change and instead follow the advice of a Twitter brawler?

I seldom vote my shares but was very motivated to see the $hr.un $go.un acquisition/merger proposition fail. Over the past few weeks I’ve been tempted to unload but held on for principle. Sleazy transactions like this one need to be vigorously opposed. Voted this morning!

Absolutely incredible… "Wedgewood Polls" just admitted they are a fake polling firm and made up their polls. Their fake polls have been posted in both the NYT and Nate Silver’s averages.

An absolute moral outrage. A driver in a pickup strewn with open beer cans kills a child while driving 90 in a 50 zone, and is given house arrest because a robed political activist cosplaying as a judge virtue signals with an insane theory that the killer is an intergenerational victim of colonialism. We need an absolute hard reversal of this poisoned, irrational jurisprudence. Judges like this should be removed from the bench. Law schools teaching that perps of violent crime are not culpable because their ancestors may have suffered an injustice should be defunded. We must stigmatize the vile theory that violent criminals are prima facie victims by virtue of their genetic profile. It is profoundly illiberal, and more importantly profoundly unjust.

I think Canadians really need to understand this message. Trump is not Canada's problem. Trump is the straw that broke Canada's back Canada's issues stem from decades of mismanagement across all of our governments. - We have internal trade barriers worse than the tariffs we get from external countries. - We have limited supply chain routes across our country. - We've never diversified our export markets. - We have heavy regulation stopping us from building or extending permitting times essentially indefinitely. - Our bureaucracy is expanding while our services are diminishing. - We spend taxpayer money without accountability or outcome-driven plans. - We think we're morally superior to the rest of the world. Canada can be fixed, 100%. I believe that but it would take us actually looking inside of ourselves and realizing that we need to change how we govern/manage our country and the vast (unrealized) wealth we have.

Oil prices near $80 and 3-2-1 crackspreads at nose bleeding ATH. Yet $CVE is down this week. Is the market not appreciating the killer Q2/3 downstream contribution to FCF?

Assuming June’s red dot shifts left a similar distance as in May (a reasonable crude draw assumption) and oil rebounds to ‘just’ May’s average price - the June red dot’s placement would be an unprecedented outlier.
“Many observers have been surprised that Brent crude hasn't risen more; it averaged around $104 per barrel in May.  But a look at prices in the context of commercial inventories shows there is a clear pattern. The two variables have a very high inverse correlation, and May’s average Brent crude oil price fit the historical trend.   However, as Hamad Hussain at Capital Economics pointed out to Unhedged, if the supply shock continued and commercial inventories continued to fall at about 100mn barrels per month — as they did in April and May — oil prices could average between $130 and $140 per barrel in June, and possibly even higher.”

I suspect the less than spectacular market response to $wcp spectacular Q1 ER is due to hedging losses. Most E&Ps will have similar losses. The irony is the higher oil rises the greater the losses. My god, if oil goes to $200 I guess a lot of producers will go bankrupt. 😜
