My favourites.
And when he didn't take the vaccine, I thought--
How arrogant!
But then, as he kept his cool, and kept on showing his brilliance, it turned the tide.
I started following him keenly.
Read his book: Serve To Win
Understood what he went through.
And the odds against him.
And now I am a hardcore fan.
My daughter thinks, Djokovic is getting boring.
Him winning another trophy isn't a news anymore.

Sometimes the most vibrant creative traditions don’t begin with a 10-point strategy deck.
They start with a joke. The Melon Race at Xalapa mexico is an example.
Over two decade back, on the mexican independance day streets were closed. So a filmmaker and his friends thought of an absurd idea. They placed melons at the top of a cobblestone bridge and roll them down. They wanted to shoot it and see how it looked on camera.
That shoot never got over. Because onlookers began cheering and started placing bets on which melon would win.
So the next year the friends came back again. And now it's a massive annual festival. Drawing thousands. People come with their melons and take part in the race.
Later the organisers added another contest-- The most beautiful melon.

It's a good reminder to change our scripts, and be open to new ideas as they emerge.

The IIT Mumbai exam case reminds me of my own experience in one of the exams during my engineering course at Ujjain.
I wanted to remember a complicated thermodynamics formula and scribbled it on my palm. I mugged it up through my travel to the college.
Once inside the exam hall, I realised that I forgot to wash my hands. So I tried to rub it off with an handkerchief.
Professor Khan saw me. He came close to me and said--
Kyon pakistan ki madad karna chahte ho?
(Why do you wish to help Pakistan?)
Implication being, a weak mechanical engineer will make faulty machines and instruments and will help our enemy nations.
I apologised and explained that I had no intention of cheating. I just forgot to wash my hands.
He sent me out to wash my hands.
And now, here is IIT, the most prestigeous technical institute of the country. And a professor is being punished for stopping someone from blatant cheating.
Even facing an SC/ST act for doing his duty.
Obviously, loss of a young life is sad. But the way political party leaders are circumventing the real issue is shameful.
Sanctity of higher education must not be sacrificed for political agendas.
