I can’t count how many times I’ve heard that the divorce rate among Christians is 50%, and that this is the same as the divorce rate among non-Christians.
This statistic is not true. When you factor in things like regular church attendance, or saving yourself for marriage, the divorce rate is way lower for Christians.
The truth is, the divorce rate is bad among Christians who violate God’s commands in church attendance, regular prayer, and sexual purity.
Doing marriage God‘s way is not a guarantee because life is complicated and all kinds of weird things can happen. But it certainly raises your statistical likelihood of a healthy, lasting marriage.
The “Christians” who have the same divorce rate as the world are the same “Christians” who have the same behavior as the world.
Pastors, stop quoting false statistics about Christians having a 50% divorce rate.

Learning to handle suffering as a Christian is far more valuable than getting healing.
