The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has introduced a Device Management System to combat stolen, counterfeit and unapproved mobile devices in Nigeria. Under the framework, manufacturers and NCC-licensed importers must register SIM-enabled devices. Devices held as stock-in-trade were required to be registered by 6 October 2026, with non-compliant devices at risk of restricted network access or disconnection.
