I agree with pretty much everything here. Conferences CAN be in relatively cheap locations, with University dorms available for housing, with strong COVID precautions & promise to house you free if you get stuck due to COVID, etc. We've done that at #RLDM. /1
Today I spoke up at a #FENS2022 discussion event about pandemic effects on mentoring. I spoke about my frustration regarding transmission mitigation at the meeting. I sorta highjacked the discussion and I'm sorry about that, but I just couldn't not say anything and 1/n
To be clear, women should NOT be required to do anything with their bodies by anyone. Strictly speaking, Jewish law also simply allows for elective abortions at any time. My real point was just that forced birth is a violation of the first ammendment.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" - the first fucking "commandmant" in ur precious constitution! In Jewish law, women endangered by a pregnancy are REQUIRED to abort. Forced birth is unconstitutional.
A 10 year old was shot and killed attempting to call her father to send help and save the lives of her friends, all children. Children are dead because a sick person had access to a gun. So, let's make sure we make them easier to get? Fuck this country.
