Yeah, it's gonna take a very long time to get over the loss of him. He was space dad to so many. Any shitty time in my life I knew I could turn to TNG and find solace. To me and countless others Picard was OUR captain. I will always love him and the TNG cast for giving me hope.

a lot of people today would be better off if Jean Luc Picard was their role model
rather than Andrew Tate, Clav, etc.
an entire generation led down the wrong path which leads to an obvious dead end

Somewhere, in a universe next to ours, a man who looks very much like Patrick Stewart wakes up from a long strange dream and begins playing the flute.

My biggest concern is that if there is a clean sweep by Democrats of the House, Senate and Presidency in 2028, they will:
1. Make DC and Puerto Rico states to gain a strong majority in the Senate.
2. Open the borders and legalize everyone living in America illegally to cement a permanent majority.
3. Increase the size of the Supreme Court to gain an immediate majority.
This would result in America becoming a permanent one-party state and the end of democracy in any meaningful sense of the word.
All that is needed to ensure this doesn’t happen is 51 Republican senators in 2029. That is why you should vote for Republican senators this election. Other reasons are irrelevant compared to this one.

I hope a lot of you start watching TNG because not only is it a magnificent feat of television/acting/prosthetic magic, it’s often a welcome antidote to feeling absolutely hopeless about the state of the world.
We mourn the passing of Patrick Stewart, who inspired countless individuals at NASA (and beyond) to boldly go where no one has gone before.

These clips of TNG that are circulating remind me of what a comforting, hopeful vision that show was. Just the background omnipresent rumble of the warp drive and well-spoken professionals figuring out impossible problems in the future.
So much brighter than our actual lives.

Realized I’ve probably thought of Patrick Stewart at least weekly if not daily for like 35 years

I hope he’s waking up in some other area of the universe, his entire life here a dream injected by an alien probe

The Cheesecake Factory stuff is a really good encapsulation of conservative discourse during the Obama era for folks not old enough to have experienced it. Endless whining and mind-loss over something they wouldn’t even notice if someone else said it. Eight years of that!
