Not every tech breakthrough needs to make our phones faster or apps smarter. Sometimes it's helping someone communicate when they can't speak, or giving doctors better ways to treat patients. Those applications deserve more everyday conversation.
AI has already been gobbling up GPUs, sending RAM prices through the roof, and dragging SSDs into the chaos.
At this point, I'm seriously starting to think its next target is every power plant on Earth. 😂
AI's demand for computing power is exploding, and so is its appetite for electricity.
That's why, after watching Bilibili's Super Science Night and its coverage of nuclear fusion, I couldn't help thinking: this might be one of the biggest breakthroughs the future of technology needs.
The work Chinese scientists are doing deserves more global attention. I'm far more interested in seeing technology actually improve people's everyday lives than in counting how many awards scientists win.
For example, making electricity cheaper.
Because the last thing I want is to end up competing with AI just to charge my phone. 😂
