Warmaster's Guide to being a Logi Driver with teeth AKA how to be a logi driver that makes Rocket Heli Pilots cry in Wardogs. 1. Your tires should never touch pavement. The ural goes the same speed regardless of terrain. 2. Forests are your friend. 3. Zoom out your mini map as far as possible. When moving from HQ to CZ. Closer to CZ you can zoom in so you can ensure you are dropping your pallets inside the FOB zone. 4. If you have your minimap zoomed out and you hear helicopter noises and DO NOT see a friendly chopper on the mini map. Pull tf over and whip out a verba. Even if you are not sure if you heard it or not. Worst case you feel dumb, best case you get to down a chopper. 5. Vary your routes as much as you can without adding obscene amounts of time to it. 6. Take cover in forests, the taller the better as it will force the rocket heli to remain above lock height. 7. Walk away from your truck when the rocket heli attacks, if you're lucky they wont see you get out at all and will focus on your truck. Allowing you time to lock and fire a missile. 8. Do not be afraid of elevation as long as you are keeping #2 in mind. 9. Avoid open fields as much as you can, plot a route where you hop from one patch of trees to the next if you know a rocket heli is in the area. 10. You are at your most vulnerable when coming into or exiting the control zone. DO NOT LINGER, PLAN YOUR ROUTE OUT AND EXECUTE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT CRASHING 11. Do not play music when you know a rocket heli is out and about hunting trucks. The sound of those rotors in the air is going to be your best method of early detection if the heli isn't spotted by your team and is showing on the map. 12. Practice phased escalation of personal armaments. (will explain this in a reply) 13. Do not try to run. You will be caught, you will be annihilated. Evade as best you can until you can slip into a patch of trees. Come to a stop, jump out and start looking for a lock while keeping #7 in mind. 14. Do not drive in straight lines when a heli is coming at you. You can change direction faster then a chopper can, regardless of the skill of the pilot. It's just a matter of how long of a window you have until he can flip back around to try to blast you again. Caveat: This does depend on how far away the chopper is from you when it attacks. The closer it is, the harder it is for it to change direction to follow you. 15. Make sure you have a verba equipped at all times. It takes precious seconds to pull one out of the truck inventory thus making your chances of survival much much lower. But if you have one already in your specialist slot when you jump out.... 16. Make sure your truck has come to a complete stop before jumping out. It will roll and take it's precious inventory of verbas with it. 17. Do not be afraid or angry when you come under attack or lose your truck in the process of an attack. If you can escape your truck with a verba and shoot down the chopper then you have made that heli pilot very sad as they have lost far more money then you have if they get your truck. 18. If you know a rocket heli is haunting your back lines, passively hunt them. Pull into a forest with some elevation with a verba equipped and look out for the chopper from a distance while on your way to the CZ for a drop off. This will do two things, the first is if your first shot misses you should have time to grab a second verba out of the truck to try again. The second is it will scare the piss out of that pilot because they dont expect a random lock out in the middle of No Man's Land. They also will not be able to see you during the lock and if you move a little after firing, the smoke trail wont lead them right to you. Disclaimer: If you run into that top 1% of chopper pilots you're going to have a hard time regardless of if you use these tips or not but for the other 99% this should give you a fighting chance to ruin a rocket heli pilots day.
