That spring 2024 power grab by the B1G/SEC will continue to skew college sports (and haunt everyone who went along with it out of pure super league fear) for quite a while.
Replying to @ChrisVannini @Williams_Justin
Some news in this story about Playoff expansion. Yormark was very upset Big Ten/SEC/ND leaders ran the negotiations with ESPN, leading to a blowup a few weeks ago.

So they do what every other conference does, and then realize perhaps they are like every other conference.
Interesting.
NEW: Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian says the SEC is cannibalizing itself with a nine-game conference schedule👀
"Any way you slice it, it’s eight more losses. So if you are fortunate enough to be part of that discussion from the committee, how much is the committee going to value one more conference game in the SEC, right?"
He added: "To some degree we put the cart before the horse."

“Growing up, it was always God, family, and baseball. There were a lot of late nights practicing, a lot of traveling, and sometimes it was hard to get to church. But my parents helped me build a foundation on a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
“I always had a testimony, but I hadn’t read the Book of Mormon all the way through. I believed what my parents told me. They’re really smart, and their testimonies are strong. Then I got drafted, and I thought, ‘All right, I probably need to read this for myself.’
“One of the guys I was drafted with shared my faith. We became roommates and studied the scriptures together. As I read, I received personal revelation. That’s when my testimony really became stronger. I could see Heavenly Father’s hand in putting someone like that in my life.
“Reading helped me strengthen my testimony, and living what I believed gave me more opportunities to recognize His hand.
“My mom had talked to me about tithing before I even had a job. She told me about the blessings she’d seen and encouraged me to pay it. So I did. As I’ve kept that commitment, I’ve learned that the blessings can be physical, too. For me, being able to play baseball at my best is a blessing I connect directly to paying my tithing.
“Playing at an elite level still has its ups and downs. After a good year, I had a rough year. Sometimes you’re asking Heavenly Father, ‘Please help me,’ and you forget how much He’s already helped. Looking back helped me recognize the opportunities and blessings He had already given me.
“That same commitment to living my faith carries into how I take care of myself. Living the Word of Wisdom is a choice I made early. I’ve never wanted to drink or smoke. In high school, I watched people try vaping, get addicted, and struggle to stop. I didn’t want to find myself in that situation, and I’m grateful I made that decision before I ever started playing professionally.
“So when we were celebrating with the team and there wasn’t any sparkling cider, I opened the fridge, saw some Fanta in glass bottles, and grabbed a couple. I didn’t even want to hold alcohol because I didn’t want to give the impression I was drinking it. Then everybody started sending me pictures of their Fanta.
“Reading the Book of Mormon, paying my tithing, and living the Word of Wisdom are commitments I carry with me. As I’ve lived them, the foundation my parents helped me build in the gospel of Jesus Christ has become stronger through my own experiences.
“Heavenly Father has really shown His hand in my life.”

The timing couldn't have been worse for Utah. It feels like McAfee's frustration with all the GameDay criticism landed on them, and they're taking too much heat for it.

But you said to a media member after your first win against TCU that you keep receipts!! So apparently you do care because you keep receipts right? When you win it’s receipts but when you lose it’s I don’t care what they say🤦♂️🤷♂️. FACTS

In the coming weeks and months, you’re going to hear stories of the dysfunction coming out of Colorado football.
Players promised one dollar amount, only to arrive in Boulder and discover the money is nowhere to be found. This is a common theme. Meanwhile, the guys negotiating these deals are backpedaling faster than Coach Prime at a press conference.
Meet the architects of this clown show.
Reggie Calhoun Jr. — Director of Revenue Sharing & NIL.
A résumé featuring door-to-door sales, network marketing, and entrepreneurship. Now he’s helping oversee millions in player compensation. Oh, and his daddy just happens to be CU’s Director of Football Operations. How convenient.
Rodney “Pretty Tony” Forsett — Chief of Staff.
A longtime Deion buddy whose official CU biography doesn’t even bother listing his professional experience. Apparently, being part of the entourage is qualification enough.
Deion sold Boulder championship football. Instead, we got a traveling circus staffed by his buddies.
A football program or a con man’s convention?
This is what happens when loyalty replaces qualifications and accountability takes a backseat to kissing the boss’s ass.
Get this entire circus out of Boulder.

Fox: Why are you here this morning?
Trump rally attendee: Well, in the late 70s, I was a little too young to go to South America for the Jonestown Massacre. But this is as close as I'll ever get, so that's why I'm here. There's nothing like seeing a cult right up front.
