Voting is an incredible privilege in our country. Thanks to @DebMueller11 - Trauma faculty and Wellness chair - for helping our residents vote during their clinical work day!

We gave our Surgery PGY1 Morgan Wall a surprise pop up birthday party on the Trauma Floor today! #wellness #surgery @UTHealthSASurg
I want the learner to do everything they know to do - then I help them break new ground by giving them the least help possible to allow them to do so. Sometimes they just get a rep doing something they know to do. Sometimes they get a lot of help - e.g. vascular trauma).
P.S. It helps to have the right tools. Our 2021 residency graduates paid it forward when they gifted me this.

We cooked 5 briskets, 6 peach pork shoulders, and 120 chicken thighs. Everybody went home well fed and feeling welcome. #SurgBBQ

I've picked up a few competition BBQ tricks over the years. It pays to pay attention when BBQ class is in session. Thank you @ClintSwindall.
It was a pleasure. Borrowed a smoker cooked 25 chickens, 30 ribs, beans, mac&cheese, veggies.
How thoughtful of our Faculty to cook for all the residents and have these super cute tasteful chocolates! The perks of being part of a surg family that cares about you ☺️ #ResidentWellness #TexasBBQ. Thank you @DanielDent6 @DebMueller11 @UTHealthSASurg

Our hope and inspiration for #2021NewYear is not in #COVID19vaccines alone but in #HealthcareHeroes, like Dr. Brigmon, a @UTHealthSASurg resident, volunteering over the #HolidaySeason for a @uthsaim #COVID19 team @UnivHealthSA with wonderful @UTHealthSA #faculty like Dr. Tercero.
Very proud of our residents who volunteered to help with COVID care of the holidays. THANK YOU.
I suspect San Antonio is not the only place where this is the case. It’s time to hunker down. The worst is probably yet to come.
Please help #MaskUp, #StayHome, #StopTheSpread! Celebrate the holidays apart this year so we can spend the many more to come together.
Heck yeah! Great team. @womeninsurgery you won't find better role models than those @UTHealthSASurg @UTHealthSA - like @DawnHuiMD, Lisa Thomas, and Danielle Fritze.
