Very excited to present a preprint of the first chapter of my thesis, which focuses the end of the LGM (Ice age / Last Glacial maximum) in Europe, and specifically the post-LGM Balkans.
New preprint from @oguzparasayan looks at the origins of Bantu peoples and sequences four historical (~700BP) Congolese genomes. One interesting finding is a population contraction in both Bantu groups and hunter Gatherers ~1500 BP.

🚨 We’re back hiring! Three PhD positions available at EdeLab, Université Laval!
After a lengthy selection process, we filled just one of our four positions. We met talented candidates, but unfortunately, we did not find the right match for the remaining projects.
We’re reopening applications and looking forward to meeting future team members!
📄 Please read the full announcement and all requirements carefully before applying.

Beyond thrilled that the first paper from our lab is out today in @nature! We show that SWI/SNF loss results in gain-of-function for CTCF and cohesin, reshaping the 3D genome, and an unexpected switch between chromatin remodeling complexes.

Climate records show when Arabia turned green. Our new @Nature paper asks what else MP humans needed, stones for lithic tools. Using the Rub' al Khali as a case study, with years of work in southern Arabia, we show people settled where water and stone met.
