you like back covers for books?
we've got back covers
Got the bid back from the printers on making a slipcase. Just making the cases, forget about loading and shrinkwrapping them, would cost over $20 a case, and the minimum number we could buy would be 500.
So... I think we are probably NOT going to do slipcases. Bummer.

Fun fact: an earlier version of the cover to book two was slightly different.
We're about to hit $50,000.

I kind of got behind in reading YouTube comments and replying to them. It was fun to play a little catchup this evening.
We've passed $49,000.

Story fodder, if nothing else.
A hole on the Moon just turned out to be the front door to a 50 km tunnel.
Japan’s Kaguya orbiter first spotted it. A pit about 50 metres wide and 50 metres deep, sitting in the Marius Hills on the Moon’s near side.
Then JAXA pointed the probe’s radar underground. The echoes came back with something huge: a lava tube roughly 100 metres wide, running about 50 km, and still intact. No collapse.
Scientists think it was carved by volcanic activity around 3.5 billion years ago. There may even be ice or water locked in the rocks inside.
That’s why JAXA thinks it could become a lunar base. Shelter from radiation, micrometeorites and brutal temperature swings, all built in.

Today's bonus High Low Brow episode is a reading from Witchy Winter. Etienne Ukwu, the bad son of the Bishop of New Orleans, lines up his support.

A Scottish museum has removed its Egyptian mummy exhibition because it does not have “consent from the deceased individual”.
Visitors to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, in Glasgow, were left disappointed by signs explaining bosses had “removed human remains from this display as a mark of respect”🔗

The Kickstarter campaign is on a bit of a roll. We passed $48,000 this morning. Can we hit the $50,000 stretch goal by the weekend?

At this very moment, my biggest focus is avoiding being scammed by bots designed to exploit the marketing insecurities of writers.
This is one very important reason why I have made sandwiches the first Saturday of every month for a decade now.
A lot of people don't understand why we have to clean the church buildings. Yes, it's a hassle, and it's inefficient. But let me make it very, very clear for you:
Your kids aren't affected that much by what you say
Or what you do
Or even what you make a habit of
Your kids are affected by what you sacrifice for. That is how you truly teach them. Every opportunity the Church gives you to serve and sacrifice is a gift.
