I am a liberal Republican. Not liberal in the progressive illiberal, statist sense. But liberal in the classical, enlightenment sense as embodied by Fredrick Douglas, Thomas Jefferson and Hayek.

Biggest psy-op in RI right now - Secretary of State, Speaker of the House, Senate leadership et al, aided by the media, trying to create a sense of panic that simply isn't needed. This is to scare the s*&#t out of Voters ahead of the horrible "Let RI Vote" Act. Theatre - period.

Don’t elect someone who is just looking for their next gig in politics.
Driving through Smithfield today, I was struck by how many candidates seem to be running not to serve their community, but to position themselves for the “next one.” I see the same dynamic playing out in…
several races this year.
We need citizen legislators—not career politicians.
Choose people who want to serve their community, solve problems, and then go back to being citizens—not politicians who are constantly looking for their next office.
And if they’re already…
This is Banana Republic shit. This is the contemporary Democratic Party.
ON UCHICAGO CAMPUS: U.S. Senator from Michigan Elissa Slotkin hopes planned political prosecutions of republican leaders will scare young conservatives from getting involved in politics.

In RI that father would be a criminal merely for entering his child's school property with a legally possessed firearm. Laws like this endanger far more innocent people than they protect.

They don't understand supply chains, price signals, or human drive, yet they demand absolute veto power over your life.

Truth & Consequences: Navigating the 2026 House Legislative Session, A Rhode House Minority Report, RI Business Climate and Regulatory Burdens
Rhode Island’s business climate is under performing, and small businesses are carrying the weight of higher costs, mandates, and regulations.
Bottom Line: Rhode Island cannot grow if state government keeps making it harder to hire, invest, compete, and do business here.
Among New England states, Rhode Island ranks worst for starting a business, and ranks 50th nationwide – demonstrating how difficult the state has made it for entrepreneurs and small businesses to launch, grow and compete.

The state’s Medicaid match consumes 34.5% of Rhode Island’s revenue spending, compared with 65.5% for all other major government services combined.

Truth & Consequences: Navigating the 2026 House Legislative Session, A Rhode House Minority Report - RI Housing Affordability
Despite years of public spending and voter-approved housing bonds, Rhode Island remains one of the least affordable states to rent, buy or raise a family.
Bottom Line: Housing costs determine whether families stay, businesses can hire, and the next generation can afford to build a life in Rhode Island.
From 2006- 2021, Rhode Island voters approved more than $165M in Housing Bonds. Those funds helped create and rehabilitate ONLY 4,007 state-funded affordable homes in 15 years.

ENERGY REFORM
Truth & Consequences: Navigating the 2026 House Legislative Session, A Rhode House Minority Report – RI Energy Reform
Rhode Island families and businesses are paying electricity rates that are amongst the highest in the nation, while state energy mandates and taxes continue to add pressure to monthly bills.
Bottom Line: Rhode Islanders deserve reliable power at prices families and businesses can afford. High energy costs are putting ever-increasing pressure on household budgets.
The average residential retail electricity prices in Rhode Island generally increased between 2020 and 2025, by approximately 34%

Truth & Consequences: Navigating the 2026 House Legislative Session, A Rhode House Minority Report – RI Fiscal Expansion and New Taxes
Rhode Islanders are paying more in taxes while ranking 13th in the highest costs of living.
Bottom Line: Before asking Rhode Islanders to pay higher taxes, state government should be required to control spending, root out waste and prove it is using taxpayer dollars wisely.
In just 7 years, cumulative tax dollars that provide the funding needed to support the state budget for government programs, services and operations has increased 47.61%. This is not sustainable.

Fung and Block are opportunistic birds of a feather.
The Republican party in the past has been dysfunctional and had a void of viable state wide candidates. Both Fung and Block tried to fill that historical void for their own personal political ambitions.
They have been forced to leave the GOP behind as real Republicans and even Democratic are getting wise to these political opportunists.
On a recent talk show episode Allen Fung was called a moderate Republican. The kind of Republican that doesn’t fit in with the contemporary Republican Party.
Here is the deal. Fung is a moderate Democrat who didn’t fit into the Democratic Party.
That’s why he left them and affiliated with the Republicans and continued to run and govern as a moderate Democrat.
Any Republican that paid attention to politics knew this and this is why he lost every state wide race he ran for.
Republicans wouldn’t vote for him but Democrats and Unaffiliated would. Not enough Democrats but all the moderates in their party.
