It is unfortunate that the NH Senate failed to pass HB229 #DefendTheGuard.
Instead, the Senate chose to "quiet kill" this vital legislation.
Veterans, service members, and the grassroots of NH have taken notice.
Thank you to all the legislators, volunteers, and supporters who worked tirelessly to get us this far.
Bar is set, the standard planted. We are not going away. We will be back bigger and stronger every year until NH passes this.
Thank you to our supporters who came out to testify before the House committee yesterday.
The opposition hit us hard but we hit back harder.

Rep. Mannion deployed twice to Iraq as a Marine, and we’re incredibly proud to work with him in defense of the National Guard and our Constitution.

The “Live Free or Die” state has a lot of people who love liberty.
But in our experience, there isn’t a better, more committed, and more knowledgeable activist in all of New Hampshire than @derek_proulx.
We’re honored to have him on our team in support of @DefendTheGuard.

I’ve had some really powerful calls today from Granite State veterans about HB104. They’re excited to see this legislation through, as am I.
Call these State Reps and ask them to support HB104 Defend The Guard Act.

Door knocking alone isn’t the best BUT getting nothing but YES from these voters makes it worth it.
Let me know if you want to join me. I do all the talking.

Further context:
While there were a great many disappointments from the Senate, the failure to get so much as a roll call on this critical bill was the anvil that broke the camel's back and necessitated this primary, and stirred up the grassroots.
Elections are won at the door.

DEI is a small part of it. The larger part is that young Americans just watched their older siblings and parents fight a 20+ year war for nothing and come home to a poorer and less free country.
Why would anyone continue to sacrifice for that?

I support state-level "Defend the Guard" acts, which prohibit the deployment of the National Guard abroad without a formal declaration of war by Congress. It would put a limit on the military adventurism we take for granted today as normal.
Iran is more than twice the size of Texas, more than twice the population of Iraq and almost entirely mountains.
If you think that war with this country will be successful, you are an evil moron. Full stop.

Sorry for the slow response! Simple answer: yes. If it’s the same bill or substantially the same legislation. Rep Mannion knows he has my support.
