Here’s a friendly reminder that, even though the news rn is scary and depressing, the answer should almost never be to “not watch because it makes [me] sad.” If the news upsets you, go out and try to change the world it reports. Ignorance is not bliss. #ignoranceisirresponsible

So many Friday the 13th fans really just want Jason to have no backstory no lore no nothing and just kill people. I don’t want to yuck anyone’s yum about this, but why have this mentality with one of the most lore heavy/character driven slasher villains ever.
It really WASN’T marketed as a takedown of Hansen, at all.
Hansen himself fanned those flames by constantly talking about wanting to take baseless legal action.
Everyone assumed it was a hit piece and not a nuanced exploration of a complex human.
There’s a solid skill gap between a police officer who has training in violent situations and a blue collar medical courier whose main job is delivering supplies.
They’re both just guys, but with VERY different skills in handling crisis situations.
Gee, it’s like the movie shows how everything that would make Bryan a great father is what leads him to his demise.
Human decision-making is rarely rational. People act on impulse & emotion more often. A movie raises the stakes of a bad decision to make an interesting story.
This scared the shit out of me and it’s burned into my brain.
Bryan’s stupidity in this Resident Evil scene genuinely got on my nerves. He knew she was infected, saw what that thing had done to someone else, and still thought carrying her was a good idea. Even Zack Cregger has to draw the line somewhere with this level of stupidity! #ResidentEvil
I expected the backlash to Rep. Haley Stevens’ endorsement of Mike Rogers would cause backlash. I didn’t expect it to draw widespread condemnation from every branch of the Democratic Party.
It makes you wonder what the thought process was beyond pettiness and hurt feelings.
I truly didn’t think "Dune" was THAT hard to understand, but unfortunately too many people are incapable of seeing nuance and insist on black-and-white moral objectivism.
Chuds are legitimately not smart enough to understand "Dune".
Paul’s not evil for fighting back.
Paul’s villainy comes from willfully becoming a pseudo-messiah for the Fremen and sparking a war that went far beyond fighting tyranny.
In overthrowing an autocracy, he became an autocrat.
This shouldn’t be that hard to glean from the novels.
You mean the adaptation that doesn’t exist because that’s an AI generated image?
This is what Angela Bettis looks like, my guy:
Laugh all you want, but this is literally the only screen adaptation that actually respected Stephen King's text.
In the 1974 novel, Carrie wasn't a Hollywood-pretty model with a cute smudge of dirt, she was explicitly written as chunky, pimple-faced, awkward, and broken. The 2002 movie was flawed, but Angela Bettis understood that her physical isolation was central to her tragedy. Modern fans are so addicted to CW glamorization that accurate source material looks like a joke to them.
Stop letting Hollywood beauty standards sanitize raw horror. Read the book. #Carrie

We've moved from 'should journalists be influencers' to 'should journalists engagementmaxx' by fragmenting their opinions via multiple accounts
Internet-culture reporter and influencer @TaylorLorenz, who recently lamented her dismal earnings on YouTube and has sparred with the Bluesky set over AI, has rebranded herself, with a new YouTube channel specifically geared toward the pro-AI crowd techie crowd.
Ah yes, blame the woman for not fully being down with her man starting down the path that will lead to him declaring himself worse than Hitler.
The translation was checked.
This is said in the film at least three different times.
Because it would present a conflict of interest and hurt to integrity of the film.
This is explained in the film.
I love it when Puritans start whining
Genuinely wrong.
In fact, "American Psycho" falls apart if you accept it all as a fantasy.
The point is that he absolutely is that monstrous, but nobody cares because of who he is.
“This confession has meant nothing.”
Ah yes, greedy Matt Reeves is keeping the character he doesn’t own all to himself.
Do you hear yourselves or do you just say words hoping they’ll congeal into a sentence?
