My goodness…Luke Fahey won the QB2 job all the way back in high school.

Ryan Day on Luke Fahey and what he brings to the table for Ohio State.
At every turn since the Fahey began to really assert himself into the backup QB spot in camp, he has been praised for his work ethic. Day also said Fahey has moxie.
Ryan Day was asked about the way Jeremiah Smith is being officiated. Day said they submit plays to the conference, and while there is acknowledgement of missed calls, it’s “a day late and a dollar short.”
“Hope isn’t a strategy, but I’m hopeful things will change,” he said.
Ryan Day said that with the bye week, Luke Fahey and Tavien St. Clair will both be getting reps, and they’ll ultimately play whichever one gives Ohio State the best chance to win moving forward.
Ryan Day said Julian Sayin will out be out indefinitely, and they’re putting a plan together to move forward as if he’s not gonna be available again for Ohio State.
Out of respect for Sayin and his family, Day said they’re not gonna put a specific timeline on anything.
Thad Matta will be honored at halftime of Sunday’s exhibition between Ohio State and Butler at the Schott.
Diebler said the idea to do something spawned out of a convo with his brother, Jon, who’s an assistant on the Butler staff.

Good stuff here from Jake Diebler on the value of having former Buckeyes Jared Sullinger and William Buford on the staff and practicing with the team.
Diebler said both have a “tremendous approach to mentorship” as they begin their coaching careers, and it was a no-brainer add.
Jake Diebler will be coaching against his brother, Jon, on Sunday when Butler plays Ohio State in an exhibition.
Diebler said it will be a special moment to have his brother back in the building, given the career he had as a Buckeye, as well as the family aspect.

Luke Fahey is going to be going home to SoCal to make the first start of his career as an Ohio State Buckeye. Can’t even imagine what these next two weeks are about to be like for him.

For all you Ohio State collectors out there, I saw an email yesterday from @BobbleheadHall about this Jeremiah Smith release. These are pretty dang cool, especially the Iowa Heisman pose, although the first one is truer to the trophy.
