Great to welcome Michelle and Jane back to Parliament after my recent SEND roundtable.
Both are doing brilliant work in Basingstoke to improve early years inclusion - and it was powerful to see them speak directly with Minister for Early Years @stephenmorganmp, and to join parents and organisations from across the country at @Dingley Promise’s research launch.
That research showed what too many parents already know: the system isn’t working. Over half say they don’t trust it. Two-thirds can’t get the support they need from their council.
That has to change. We’ve inherited a broken system and this Government is getting on with the job of fixing it.
I’ll keep standing with parents, working with the Department for Education and charities, to make sure every child in Basingstoke and across the country gets the start in life they deserve.
