The field of Nurse Practitioners has been overtaken by those motivated purely by profit who have preyed on unsuspecting nurses looking to advance their careers. Far too many graduates have no experience and are ill prepared for the critical function that midlevels perform in our medical systems. This @BeckersHR article outlines the key problems facing nursing education and I encourage everyone to read and better understand the issue. There is a significant need for physician assistants and nurse practitioners alike given the increased demand for healthcare in the United States, but that need cannot be used as justification to provide subpar education that puts patients at risk.
